I know I dont post that often but today I wanted to talk to someone and cant seem to find anyone so I thought I would come bug u guys. Well, I work fulltime and go to school full time Alhamdulillah.Everything was going well until I took leave to go see family for a couple weeks during school time.(I had to take leave when I could else u never know if u will be able to get it next time;not everyone can leave at the same time from work ,right?? :) ).Anwyay, I came back and I had missed so much stuff, taht it was unbelivable!! :o I had done my calculus while I was there but physics and digital design were still to be taken care of. So,I rolled my sleeves and tried to manage everything. Well,I got my assignments done and everything but I had to prepare for exams for physics and digital design. Anwyay, I busted myself for both exams. On physics day,I came to know about 5 mins before the exam that it included anotehr sec I hadnt stdudied. And ,as it happened to be, alot of the problems were related to that sec. must be pretty important, huh?? ::) And then ,I worked SOOO hard, and  I mean really hard for DD BUT,I didnt emphasise on the VHDL part enough and BOOM!!!A 40 marks problem on the exam!!!!
To make my already long story short, I did worse on both exams then I have every done on ANY exam ,all my life!!!!DD ,I know I am good at and InshaAllah recover in the next one,but with physics,I seem LOST all the time!!Does anyone have any suggestions to improve my undestanding of physics???I am so heartbroken and sad today. I wanted to cry but then realised that its not going to help at all, watsoever. Please everyone pray for me and give me any advice u seek fit.
Just wanted to share my feelings. Maybe I will feel better now, maybe not.
JazakaAllahu khairan for listening.

wa alaykum as salaam wa rahmatAllah,

awwwww poor thing.. inshaAllah it'll be okay.. one exam ain't no thing :)   *hug*

I asked my father about studying physics [he's a physics professor] and he said that it's all about comprehension of the material.. making sure you understand the concepts.. not so much doing the problems or memorizing formulae..

hope that's of help inshaAllah! and don't work *too* hard.. make sure to chill and  [] every now and then :)

wasalaamu alaykum wa rahmatAllah :-)

Here are some websites on physics:

Hope they help.

Physics troubles are something I can relate to. :(  I find that the best way to learn is by doing all the reading and recommended questions, and then asking the prof/TA/a friend about the concepts that I don't understand.  It's definately all in the understanding of the concepts, like se7en said.  They usually give you the formulas on the exam, and it's up to YOU to apply them.  Think of all the basic kinematics fomulas where the condition of their application is constant acceleration.  If you haven't understood that basic concept, then if they trick you on the exam with variable acceleration, blindly applying those formulas won't get you anywhere.  That might not be the best example but I'm tired. ::)

I don't know how you're surviving working full time and going to school full time.  I couldn't do that!  What are you studying?  It sounds something like electrical engineering.  (Am I close?)

Hope you feel better soon. :-*

Julie :)

Asalaamu Alaikum ;-)

I take my hat off to anyone who takes Physics. Way too clever for me.

InshaAllah it will all come good Sr Mehak.

PS The only thing I used to like in Physics was that wave generator machine thingy. ;-)  Do they still have that?

Thanks a lot to whoever replied!!! :-) It did help a lot. And I feel a lot better now, ALhamdulillah. ALthough,my grades fell down alot bcuz of this but then I thought that I still got 2 more exams to go,including the final so maybe I should work harder for that.
And se7en, actually the problem with the teacher is that his lecture is totally different from the problems assigned. He doesnt cover the problem solving techniques. And the graduation students assigned to help us out are .......well,students themselves. They come into the class and start writing a problem on the board. No explanation is felt necessary. Lets see what happens :)
Well, thank u for the sites bro sabri.  They do seem very helpful. And Julie, trust me u dont wanna work and go to school at the same time. Its difficult but not impossible Alhamdulillah. But u should only do it when u  REALLY have to.
Okay , thanks for the suggestions everyone. JazakaAllahu khairan,
