[color=Teal]  [slm] Sister,

Just keep making dua and insha'Allah they will be heard.  Sometimes it is better not to discuss your plans with others, because humans get jealous.  :P Insha'Allah keep working towards your goal and Allah [swt] will reward and guide you.  >:( =  :-*

Assalamu'alaikum :-)

Dearest Sister,

MashaAllah, I am very happy to know that you would want to have the Qur'an in your heart. That is a very noble intention, mashaALlah.

I can understand how school can be a bit boring sometimes, but inshaAllah, if we are on the path of learning, whether it be literature, maths, physics, geography... Allah would always be with us. Knowledge is from Allah, and it can be very interesting how we can draw closer to Allah, when we see His signs when we study all those things in school.

Long ago, while Europe is still in it's Dark Ages (7th - 13th Century), Muslims are far developed in it's sciences and culture. And there are many Muslim scholars, who excel both in knowledge such as astronomy, mathematics, physics, medicine as well, as in the deen too. That's because they study things beyond what they read. They linked it with Allah. And they have this passion to study and learn about the world.

Here are some websites that may be useful if you want to find out more.

http://www.islamicmedicine.org/
http://www.harunyahya.com/m_articles.php

If we want to return to such a glorious age, then, let us be motivated to study even harder. Not just for the grades, but because we want to excel in knowledge, and apply it for good in this world, in various fileds, culture, science, technology etc. But to reach to such a level, we also must be very close to the Qur'an.

Alhamdulillah, since you would like to become a Hafizah too, I'm sure this can help you further with your studies, and even liking it! inshaALlah! :) Maybe, you can become a scientist, a doctor, a teacher, or even a hairdresser or whatever that you want to be and all of us can be proud of, mashaALlah!

Have you told your parents about your interest?  Who knows? Your parents can be your number 1 supporter :)  And can enrol you to an interesting tahfiz class.

Eventhough we may not attend a full-time tahfiz class, being Muslims, we should strive to have the Qur'an in our hearts. And we can start making small steps first like memorising the shorter surahs.

Allocate a time, whether its after Fajr, or after maghrib, or anytime, which you feel comfortable with, and you can strat memorising. You can also do a chart, as well as a target and a timeline, when you want to finish memorising a  certain surah. Then, allocate a time for you to revise the surahs that you learn. InshaALlah, this way, you would not forget them easily. Also, do read the surahs that you have memorised during prayers to help remember them.

Do you have a friend who would like to memorise the Qur'an too? Both of you can start , and motivate each other, inshaAllah.

It is also good to complement your Qur'an memorisation by going to tafsir classes, and also, to ponder and think of the ayahs memorised.

Anyways.. there are a lot of things that we can do! But inshaALlah, begin with small steps. And be patient, don't be hasty when we approach teh Quran.

It can take a person decades to memorise the Qur'an.. but as long as you are firm on that path, disciplined, and pray that Allah will make it easy for you, I'm sure, you can reach your goal.

So, maybe, you may want to go to your parents, talk to them and see how they feel about it. Remember, sometimes, parents can surprise us!

And do let us know what's the outcome, pls! :-)

All the best!
Wassalam
