Bismillah and salam, haha bros its not what you think. it is what you fear! to all the sisters who x-stitch...hardanger looks sooo cool and it is pretty easy. Anyone done it? it makes for GREAT throw pillow cover like lace over a dark fabric sorta but not so old fashioned style. The cutting threads out part is nerve racking though. All your stitch and weave can just be ruined. I learnt to fix some mistakes as well. it is soooo kewl. try it try it |

Bismillah and salam, Here is one site: http://crossstitch.about.com/cs/stylehardanger/ http://members.aol.com/ecnpage/hrdngr.html also some of these have them: http://www.nordicneedle.com/free/ It's a nordic embroidery used to be made by peasants. It looks like lace if you use thin floss, except it is a lot less work than lace. IE it makes neat holes in the fabric by making closters and then cutting the supported threads and pulling them right out. It is more fun, but harder though, than the 4 sided stitch which creates holes by pulling back the thread. And at the end you can make things in between the holes as well with this kind. |
