| [slm] Dont we feel totally helpless in terms of being able to help the muslims who are being massacred all over the world? What CAN we do? How many of the bro's do bacis military training? I assume few if any. So whats stopping you from starting now? When the fight starts, its too late, you dont have time to build bacis stamina, agility, speed and basic military drills! So why not start now, some time this week. Go for a 10-15 minute run, and make your run end in a kids park. Then do a basic obstacle course, climbing up the rope/chain ladders, swinging across the monkey bars, doing chin ups, jumping over walls, going mountain climbing once every few weeks? Its not hard, its bacis military training, no high tech equipment needed, just a few obstacles, walls, climbing frames etc. Theirs so many books on military training available, buy one or two, spend £20. Read these books and do the basic drills they show. And for weapons training, just buy an air rifle, for £50 and pratice long distance sniper firing. Its not illegal. Its basic training. But its important, and the basis of any military. Dont wait for trouble to start, be prepared, make this basic training a part of your everyday lifestyle. 2 or 3 sets of pushups in the morning or at night, a few sit ups, etc, thats all, just basic stuff, but its all so important. None of the superpowers wait for a war to start to be ready. They train and train and train, and so when the fight starts, they are already well prepared and ready. The muslims need to leanr this basic lesson When a war starts, the Kaafirs work on their final manouvers, thier final invasion, airlifts, and close combat firarms drills. What do the muslims do when they fight starts? They start trying to do a few pushups or 3 or 4 pullups. . Its better to be safe than sorry. |

I don't see get physical training and learn to shoot so that you are not sorry when you are attacked equals kill all infidels you come across. Brother Elephant are you reading between the lines? |

| This is true. And fair enough. But I've yet to meet anyone else on the netwho demonstrates such an indepth knowledge about the virtues of 'self-defence' and is so eager to pass it on to all and sundry. Still, early days. And I rather think ol' 'mujaahid' will be along presently to defend his good name... ;) |

| [slm] Beth, you tell me what is wrong with me saying people should be well trained and prepared and ready to defend themselves if they were ever attacked. That is a part of Islaam. But tell me, where is the harm in that? Why does that aspect of islaam make it a violant religion in your eyes? |

| Assalamu alaikum I can definitely see how encouraging people to buy rifles for sniper training and books on military training might be seen as somewhat violent and unpeaceful, especially by a non Muslim. I agree that we should all be fit physically since Allah will ask us what we did with our bodies that He gave us, whether we used them to obey Him or to do harm. However, whether or not we're physically ready for war isn't really the question. The Muslim world has HUGE armies but it doesn't look like they're willing to use them to defend themselves or other Muslims. The war HAS started, look around you. What are you encouraging people to prepare for? More than this? "What do Muslims do when the fight starts?" The fight has been going on for a long time and sadly the Muslims haven't done much to speak of. Before we start talking about being prepared militarily, how about starting with our own selves. Over history, Jerusalem (and victory) has been given by Allah to the Prophets and those who followed them, to the best of people. Why have we lost it? Because we're not following the Prophet (S) anymore. If people understand that, and go back to Islam, Allah will give us back Quds. A former prime minister of Israel was once asked about the Hadeeth that says the Muslims will fight the jews till the jews hide behind rocks and trees.... the prime said that she knew the hadeeth, but it wasn't these Muslims that would do that.... That time will be when Fajr prayer is like Jumu'a. That made me think. |

Who cares what they think, they dont care when the muslims are massacred, even if they are suposed to protect muslims, they stand back and do NOTHING (srebenica). Whose doors is it at now? "Theirs"? Who's "US" and where are our doors? "it" is already in my house. I am unable to defend myself although I am physically strong. Why is that? In the west, it's not physical training that'll help you defend yourself. se7en, have you taken your deep breaths? I hope so ;) We need to go to the mosque, not the gym. When push comes to shove, anyone can pull a trigger, that's not what we have to train for. Purifying our niyya for Allah comes first. I mean really really living our lives for Allah. That's what'll help us defend ourselves. |

And then wait for "it" to come to our door" Trust a sister to completely take it out of context, and even accuse me of saying something i never have!! ;) 1) I dont recall ever mentioning a gym!! 2) I was not talking about gym execercises. I was indicating stright to the point of Jihad. Military training. Let me make my point again. WHY DONT WE START MILITARY TRAINING? YOU KNOW, ARMY TRAINING? Defence, attack manouvers, which we can do in local forrests and hills and valleys? Its Jihad training, training for warfare. Be prepared for when it comes to your door, but also be in a position that if you get the oppurtunity to go aborad to fight, your ready to go, meaning you've already trained and mastered the basic military fitness regimes and all you need is a few weapons drills and to be sent to the front lines. UNDERSTAND? RIGHT! In PROTEST AT MY POST BEING TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT, I'M GONA STAND ON MY HEAD. |

| yes yes we should have all our brothers train ..and be prepared for the big battle ahead...except our brothers are in the land of the kaffir..why? if brothers want to defend their faith and their being should not brothers be in the land of the believer? should not brothers be creating a modern fair and just civilisation that is viable and has the strength to deter any kaffir? why are you brother mujaahid if you are living in the land of the kaffir (forgive me if youi are not) why are you not in saudia or palestine even afghanistan? instead you sit by your computer giving useless advice. do you brother really believe that you will defeat the kaffir in their country , with your air rifle? |

| We need to have military training, however if one does not have these skills one should still support the jihad physically. You see by relying on Allah SWT. Also it shouldnt take years to correct your intentions, make dwa and insha Allah it wll be easy. I feel some peoples reply was positive however there was element of hypocracy in a few (Allah knows best). One can become motivated insha Allah by studying the rewards of a shahid, but pleasing Allah SWT is enough! Wake up brothers and sisters to the reality, the ummah is crying for our help! where is our 'tawaqul' in Allah SWT! |
