| salaam, I need a recommendation of a book to use to learn how to read Quran. Right now I am not as concerned about understanding the Arabic, but i want to be able to read Quran in the true language. I will learn to understand next. Please give me your suggestions. |

| [slm] I'm not sure of too many good books out there that can teach you how to read the Qur'an without the help of a teacher. Maybe others can help. But the Al-Qari software is really good for it, from what I've seen. Check it out at www.astrolabepictures.com or www.soundvision.com May Allah (swt) make it easy for you to learn to recite His Book, and bless you and reward you for your efforts in acquiring that skill. | [wlm] "An introduction to tajweed" by umm Muhammad is Awesome. www.abouttajweed.com is an awesome website on the Makharaj( articulation) , sifaat (characteristics) and general things about the arabic alphabets. InshaAllah this will give you a start. Also as bro Abu-Hamza said, the best way to really learn is through a qualified teacher. Al-Qari is really good as well, it truly helps you with your articulation. May Allah(swt) put baraka in your learning. JazakumAllahu khair |
