| I love to see the prophet (pbuh) in dream…Really? |

| Assalaamu Alaikum, Alhamdulillah, One day we were in a mosque listening to a Shaikh talking about our Mahabbah (love) for the prophet (Alaihi Assalaatu Wassalaam). During his talk he mentioned the following story: There were a scholar who was well known among his people of his more frequent dreams in which he sees the prophet (pbuh). Almost every few days and sometimes every night he sees the prophet in his dreams. One of his students asked him "I would like to see the prophet (pbuh) in my dreams by until now I didn't see him one single time in my life, what should I do to see him in my dreams as you do?" The scholar: "If you would like to see the prophet (pbuh) in your dream and would like to know why I'm seeing the prophet in my dreams then come with me to my home tonight after Isha' prayer" So after they completed Isha' prayer and performed the sunnah (Nafilah) prayers they went together to the scholar's home. The scholar has secretly told his wife to prepare a dinner and to add extra amount of salt in the food and he told her to not bring water with the dinner this night. So, after they took their dinner they washed their hands and sit together in the room. They started reminding each other about Allah and Akhirah. They reminded each other Aadaab (etiquette) of sleeping then they went to sleep in the same room. Just before they sleep the student asked the scholar for drinking water because he was very thirsty. The scholar told him to be patient for sometime. The amount of salt was extra in the food and the thirst of the student has increased and he cannot sleep. He asked the scholar for drinking water again and the scholar answered him "be patient for sometime my son". The student became shy to ask again for drinking water and he became sleepy so he slept with his thirst. When they woke up for Tahajjud prayer the scholar asked the student: "Did you see the prophet (pbuh) in your dream tonight?" The student: "No." The scholar: "What did you see in your dream then?". The student: "I have seen water in my dream, I was drinking water in my dream but still I'm thirsty, all my dreams tonight were about drinking water. I didn't see the prophet (pbuh)" The scholar: "So, you should know my son, If you would like to see the prophet (pbuh) in your dreams you should be very honest in your eagerness for seeing the prophet (pbuh) exactly as you were very honest in your eagerness for drinking water before you sleep this night". | [slm] subhan'allah this was awsome. It seems that we are capable of so much by the will of Allah, but it's always our own selves that are holding us back...I keep asking myself, do I really want it?? |
