| as salaamu alaykum wa rahmatAllah, You guys, I've really been trying to get my life in some order these days. I had the opportunity [alhamdulillah] to attend an *awesome* retreat with Imam Zaid Shaker a few weeks back, and it really motivated me to do a lot of stuff. Please make dua' for me! :) One thing I've been working on (for a while now) is like a literary e-zine for Muslims. Sr. Merimda from the old board and Sr. Maliha have been *awesome* awesome contributors to this and inshaAllah when it comes together it'll be amazing. The launch date has been bumped though, because I'm really behind on getting it together. InshaAllah it'll be up soon, so keep an eye out for it! But as I'm working on this project.. I'm getting all these ideas for other things. Imam Zaid talked a lot about building institutions.. and I think it would be an awesome idea for there to be a Muslim Writers Guild - a network of sorts for Muslim writers, journalists, etc. So inshaAllah I'd like to incorporate that into the site somehow. Do any of you guys have any suggestions on that? Or any contacts :) If so, please do send 'em my way! And finally, I've been thinking about a mailing list, or a blogger. Something like that, so I can take down my personal site and not have to worry about updating it, but still have a place to put up cool quotes or reflections or whatever. So... what do y'all think? |

[/quote] If you have a blogger you could call it: Bloggin with Se7en or Shazia Bloggia. Looks like I'm sort of trend setter with my blogger. :P I did find a script that lets me have upto 100 random quotes appear, its pretty cool, so if you just want quotes, you might want to go with that. I'm still playing around with the Blogger, it has a lot of neat possibilities. It can basically become a discussion board, with peoople commenting on your thoughts. Or what I eventually wanted to do was give people (people that i know) access to my blogger and they could start posting whatever to it. I have to really change out my layout a lot, and make the blogger take up more space and have some more serious stuff in there. But its easy to maintain. Maybe I'll add this thread to my blogger. :P |

She has written some excellant articles and poems for our school paper, also for our masjid's newsletter. Do update us whats going on and whenz the offical date for this site to be launced. | [slm], Sis with all these projects you have... how do you get to study ??? Your idea sounds great though.... we've got a similiar idea to that in the UK its like an comms channel, howevever we're thinking on the lines of muslim jpurnalists, a radio station, TV channel and even a web site that offers real news not just some that has been re-edited 20 times.... Just me thoughts... |
