Dear "Sis,"

I Just wanted to say "thanks" for the information on the show. I'm still trying to figure out how to USE my computer (DUH!) and I was able to catch the show last night for the first time. I really enjoyed listening in... especially to hear what Mr. Miranda had to say.

Also, it was rather a shock to find that a University would have such a negative response to a proposal which was simply designed to enlighten people of a situation which they may not know the depth or extent of. College certainly isn't what it USED to be..

With kind regards,
Addison

Addison, i apologize for not replying sooner...pls forgive me.

:-) i have yet to listen to the program on the net - its not working forme for some reason???! ...but alhamdulillah the show was enlightening. the bottom line is that the more we know about what's going on around us, the better off we are in making sure human rights are respected.

about the university preventing groups on campus from educating others about what's happening in the world.. it's quite sad..university is where people are supposed to 'think' and learn....unfortunately if that involves mentionning illegal acivities taking place around the world, it's considered a faux pas ...i mean we're all human striving for whats best for humanity...may Allah ta'ala guide us.

it cannot be stressed enough that we need to learn...if anyone tuned into Salam Ottawa last night, you know that this month's theme is about education and its no coincidence that the first part of the Qur'an which was revealed to mankind was used to start the series,

"Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, Who has taught (the writing) by the pen, Has taught man that which he knew not.  Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). Because he considers himself self-sufficient."  (Qur'an 96:1-7)
