assalamu alaikum and welcome aboard an.

One of the greatest things about this board is that we are all from different corners of the world...coming together in one place. It's amazing!

asalaamu alaikum,

hey another from this end of the world!  we just need a few more kiwis to join!  Ahlan *welcome*, this board is really cool.  Oh and if you're in Aussie, get involved with Train the Trainers!!  I've got contacts for a couple of the sisters who are trainers over there.

[wlm]  :-)

I've been waiting sooooo long for an OZ Muslim/ah to appear on this board!!!!!! Phew, finally! And I only noticed your post today! Welcome to the board, InshaAllah you'll have great time here. Although I don't post much due to laziness, procrastination ,work load and fear that I will write sumthing that'll just make things worst  so I chose to go with "Silence is Golden"  ;D (excuses I know!), I've always checked this board like err every 1 hr?  ;)

I went to Perth last month and have fallen in love with the place even if it's not the main city like Sydney and Melb. I just wanted to go where there's less existence of city and urban morden life.  So which part of OZ would you be at if you don't mind me asking? I am actually thinking and planning very hard to move there.

Actually I've been meaning to write some of the experiences I went thru when I was in Perth. Sorry to hijack your thread sister!

Ok, so I did all the tourist thingy : fed kangaroos, patted koala bears (they're not tame ! they bite! ) , held a phyton in my hand which tried to kill me in the end lol , went to the underwater  aquarium to see sharks. Gee, mostly what I did was just looking at animals! You can see that from my photo album! And all the time, was just so happy to see how happy my mom and how easy for us to move around since she's on wheelchair. She can do so many things , go to so many places without even thinking abt the wheelchair! This is something that my country has not managed to do, and any other Muslim countries. Gotta work on our compassion!!!!!

Another memorable experience was praying at the Rivervale Mosque. Before I went there, we were lost and ended up in a Turkish Mosque. No offence any Turkish that read this ok!!!! First, I don't  understand the signs since they're all in Turlish, second no one approached me and asked me whether I needed help, I guess because I'm a sister and they're all men! All they did was just stare, but I think it could probably because I was with  my non-Muslim very OZ friends. So, we went to Rivervale Mosque, I didn't want to go down and asked for fear that no one would help!!!! My non-Muslim friends was the one who asked for me.  I was greeted by a Muslim bro who smiled at me and said salam!!!!! Phewww (hehehe refer to the code of conduct for bro in Ikhwan)  He was a Malaysian too! He showed me where to take my wudhu and the sister's praying section. It was just cool! And after that I talked to the Imam who was an Indonesian and he gave me books. To the Muslim Brothers that I met on that day, if somehow you read this, Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!

Ackkk!!! I've typed too much! Salam!
