Dispatches: State of Terror

Monday 13th May, 9pm

The Israeli army have just concluded a ferocious military campaign against Palestinian fighters operating in the West Bank refugee camp of Jenin, one of the main operating bases for Palestinian suicide bombers. Twenty three Israeli soldiers died. No one yet knows how many Palestinians died.

What happened when Israel forces entered the camp? Was it a counter-terrorist operation in which civilians were protected? Or did it become an indiscriminate act of revenge for the terrible suicide bombings that Israel has had to endure?

Dispatches reporter Deborah Davies was one of the first journalists to enter the camp. The central area had been bulldozed flat. Underneath the rubble corpses rotted.

Amid the devastation she has gathered harrowing eyewitness testimony – of civilians taken prisoner by the Israeli army, and then shot in cold blood; of nurses and ambulance drivers killed trying to help the wounded; of ambulances strafed with bullets and prevented from reaching the wounded; of civilians cut down in the crossfire as families desperately tried to escape the army bulldozers that demolished their homes.

Deborah also meets a woman who risked her life to film secretly as Israeli soldiers rounded up the men of Jenin and marched them half-naked out of the town behind the barrel of a tank.

Dispatches was the only camera crew to film the work of Amnesty International pathologist Professor Derrick Pounder, who entered Jenin while Israeli forces were still in the camp. His conclusions are disturbing. Amnesty has now called for a War Crimes Inquiry.

But what did happen when the Israelis entered Jenin?

There will be a chat with Deborah Davies straight after the show - Monday, May 13, 10pm

I heard about this as well. Its gona be interesting. Despathces are pretty good. They went undercover to expose the russians as being behind the terrorist bombings in moscow a few years back.

Replying to the comment that despatches are good, one thing about these documentaries are that they have these underlying points they want to get across, without blatently saying them, ie. you have to read between the lines.

Example being the Documentary by Saira Shah, that was so one sided. One may say that she was doing the Afghan people a favour by showing what the taliban were like, but was that the truth? Were they really that bad, are the northern alliance any better ( the puppet gov. in place now)

And anyway if this documentary is following one of the Amnesty doctors, wasn't it Amnesty who were the ones that said that "Israel did committ war crimes but there wasn't actually a massacre in Jenin".
Now if you don't call what happened in Jenin a masscare then i don't know what is.

Just a word of warning thats all

sairah shah belongs to certain heretical sect and her family did quite well out of the feudal system in afghanistan

btw i know because i've read her brothers book.. it's interesting she acts in the name of afghan womens rights..without being

a) a muslim

b) an afghan

c) an afghan woman

she supports RAWA which is an ofshoot of SANA which supports making pakistan part of greater baharat and she supports Dostum a man who's army is compsed almost completely of paedophiles who raped boys in afghanistan. RAWA btw is despite it's links with the indian RAW based in Pakistan. which makes you wonder is musharaf really as opposed to india as he claims or an indian agent fooling the pakistani people

so did you watch the programme, what did i say that they were going to state how there was no massacre, and thats exactly what she said. it makes me sick, how the media is just so controlled by the Jews etc.

In one of ur emails you said that muslims don't have to correct themselves, and its not down to them that we are in the state that we're in.

Saira shah is a perfect example, she is muslim at the end of the day (even if it is by name) and this is how she treats us, makes all muslims look bad. This is our state that muslims are turning on muslims, can u still say that we don't need correcting

hmm saira shah belong to a certain sect the less which we say about the better..she wants to impose her sects views on the rest of afghanistan just like her predecessors did in Iran by murdering at least 4 million muslims.

[To all Madinans:]

I dont know if you know this, but this board has a system where you can privately send a message to other members of the boards.

May i please advise you that if you have an issue with another member, to take it to the private Instant Message and give sincere advice, and not try and openly cause fitnah on the boards.

I have been a victim of such ignorance more than once, and i can tell you, i did not appreciate it one bit. People could simply have pointed out my faults privately  without having to do so in front of everyone else.

Its not smart, its not clever, and it dont make sense when muslims start pointing out each others faults in public, in full view of everyone.  >:(

Salaam Brother Mujaahid

From reading your message, i don't quite understand who may have offended you but, from what i can see i think people may have taken some of the things that you say the wrong way. Being from London, i have come across many people like you, that is people who are quite... how shall i say....quite foward.

U C one of ur messages, about how u are so good looking you think you need a male version of a nikaab, i have to say i almost fell off me chair reading it, even now it makes laugh, but to you it may be a serious problem.

Sometimes u crack jokes and sometimes you talk passionately about something, everyone is up and down about certain topics. There's a saying in my language that a person may something and it may sound nasty, but that is not their intention, it just comes out in a wrong manner.

Just want say brother, i understand what you mean, i actually find some of your messages quite funny
