| [center] MAS & MSA Boston present: Tarbiya & ‘Ilm Camp 2002 (TIC) [i]Cultivating Our Spirituality, Uniting Our Hearts, Enriching Our Minds [/i] * Tracks developed with Islamic American Univ. * August 18-30, 2002 Scenic Sebago Lake Region of Maine [/center] We invite New England Area college students to a life changing, heart awakening two weeks. Goals & Means: Gaining understanding of Islam (through various tracks and electives such as seerah, tafsir, da’wa, fiqh, activism, adab, history, prophets, Arabic, marriage and family, etc) Cultivating and maintaining an intense spiritual relationship with Allah (through Quran, qiyam, azkar, personal reflection, special spiritual exercises such as visiting graves, etc) Developing incredibly strong bonds of brother/sisterhood (through Ta’aruf and Nasiha, sports, group projects, group building games, ropes course, group mentors, etc) Tarbiya & ‘Ilm Camp is an exceptionally unique endeavor designed by the MAS Tarbiya Committee. It leverages decades of experience in Tarbiya (personal, Islamic character development) to help achieve the goals outlined above. Groups of 6-8 students will be assigned a Murabbi/Mentor who will help them achieve the camp goals. Every part of the program is designed to achieve one of the goals: the lectures, the interactive discussions, the workshops, the da’wa projects, the student presentations, the games, the ropes course, the contemplation program, the meals, the trips, the Qiyam, the Tazkia program, the Azkar, the entertainment, the personal reflections and more. Invited guests and scholars living with the students in the camp will guide them, inshAllah, to develop a deeper understanding of Islam, to enhance our spiritual relationship with Allah SWT and to build strong ties of brotherhood and sisterhood that will, inshaAllah, last forever.
