| as salaamu alaykum wa rahmatAllah, We discussed this six-tape series before [url=http://www.jannah.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl/YaBB.pl?board=kebab&action=display&num=6192]here[/url], but I just finished the set and I want to recommend it to everyone! Man, I was just *blown away* by Sh. Abdullah's insight, knowledge and approach to the topic.. mashaAllah. It wasn't at all a dry listing of rights and obligations of male and female (which is sort of what I was expecting). I loved his approach, and the way he addressed certain issues.. things like a wife's obedience to her husband, a husband's right to 'beat' his wife, the 'degree' men hold over women, etc.. and also what he said about the differences in the *nature* of men and women, not just in terms of communication style but in how they experience things. I thought to myself more than once when listening to it that Sh. Abdullah seems to be the only man on the planet that understands women :P It was just an amazing series, mashaAllah, and I learned *a lot*. I think it should be required listening before marriage, for both brothers and sisters ;) I give it [] [] [] [] and 3/4[] [minus 1/4 only because the sound quality was difficult at times, and the actual issue of 'relations' i.e. social interaction was not really discussed] May Allah accept Sh. Abdullah's efforts, grant him mercy, and increase him in knowledge. wasalaamu alaykum :-) |

| [slm] Does anyone know if the series will ever come out onto a CD? I'd like to be able to listen to it in the car since i have a lot of driving to do, and i don't have a tape player in there. I think i'll prolly have to break down and just get the tapes :) [wlm] |

| [slm] so se7en did you count how many times Shaykh Adhami exclaimed "this is divine language!" during the entire series?...:) I'm not sure if i would say I was "blown away", to use se7en's language, because that might be an understatement. I think some brothers listening to it, who might not yet be like the night of Tihama, might look like :o or :-[ while listening to it. :) The series is definitely a gem, and its one that you can listen to multiple times and pick more things from it each time you listen. [/quote] His understanding of the philology and analysis of the etymology and linguistics of the Arabic language is *amazing* subhanAllah.
