| [center] Americans for Peace Largest Rally in the Midwest Pro-Peace Anti-Occupation Rally for Middle East Peace [i]If you missed Washington DC, this is the place to be![/i] [/center] Where: Downtown Toledo, OH When: Sunday May 19, 2002 Time: Gather at 1:00 PM at Lucas County Courthouse Toledo, OH is located in the center of the Midwest and is a strategic location. Groups are coming by bus from Columbus, Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Dayton, Ann Arbor. We will have the largest turnout ever in the MIDWEST!! The rally will begin at the Lucas County Courthouse. We will march about half a mile to Promenade Park to hear from a host of speakers. At Promenade Park the crowd will hear from a coalition of speakers including; Clergy, Congressmen and women, Civil rights groups, Political Party Leaders, Arab groups, Jewish speakers, advocacy groups, human rights groups, Latino groups, University professors, African American leaders, and many more. Speakers will discuss the Middle East situation and the outlook for peace. Americans for Peace is a coalition of the following; Northwest Ohio Peace Coalition, Toledo Metropolitan Mission (a coalition of 40 churches), Greater Toledo Arab American Association, the Arab Student Union, Latino Student Union, Muslim Students' Association, Black Student Union, United Muslim Association of Toledo (a coalition of 5 mosques), civil rights groups, the Green Party, Council on American-Islamic Relations, Cleveland Area Muslims, and a few other organizations.
