[slm] Sisters,

HELP!  I'm looking for Islamic clothing online and I can't seem to find anything.   :'(  I'm looking for summer clothing.  I prefer the pants outfits.  Does anyone happen to know a good site?  Jazakum Allah Khair.

As long as it's loose and nice I think you could shop anywhere???  like some loose pants and tops, nice dresses, or skirts and blouses... Granted it sure is difficult with all those teeny tiny summer clothes but I'm sure you could find something inshaAllah!! :)  have a [] and enjoy your shopping!!!

Thanks for the advice Jannah, but to be honest I have already gone that route.  I really would like some blouses that go below the knees and fabric that is light for summer, but not see through.    ;)  The search continues.   :-*

Sounds like shalwar kameezy type stuff. Maybe you could look around in your area for Pakistani/Indian type stores. They usually sell stuff like that....

Try this site here The Modest Clothing Web Portal  You MAY find something suitable there, i haven't looked throught the site yet.  I was going through the Islamic Garden site and came accross it.

There are some sewing patterms here at The Islamic Garden Site[slm]

The clothes on al-Hediya.com and CaravanXpress.com are not expensive- even in the plus sizes. I have my eye on a couple abayas once I save some $$- I'm unemployed so I have to save it in order to spend it, but otherwise the clothes are not too pricey. :)

i'm a single parent trying to finish school so i'm not working. 52$ for one clothing item to me is not cheap. it's expensive. i barely have enough money to buy my son baby food and diapers. i desperately need new clothes, new shoes, everything. i look like a scrub! but there's no way i could afford to buy anything for myself, especially from those sites. lol inshallah things will get better. please don't take what i just said as me complaining or anything. lol

[slm]  I read a while back, this Hadth about Bibi Fathima Radialahu Anha.  Where, someone had seen her mending her clothes and questioned her as to why she mends as uses her old clothes when she should be dressing according to her "elevated status".  She then replied, something to the effect like, "You cannot discard your clothes because they need mending...or something like that...

Anyway, what I am trying to get at is that there is no such thing as "Islamic Dressing"

We can wear whatever we have in our wardrobes, the only criteria being COVER YOURSELF when you go out.  With this in mind, i find the Abayas are extremely handy to have.  All you really need is 2 at the most i would think.

Does anyone agree?
