assalaamu alaikum

A few people will be working on putting together a website for new Muslims, insha'allah.

Parts of it are going to be specific to the UK, but other parts will be generic and be relevant to all new Muslims.

The question is content. What do new Muslims/revert Muslims want to see on the website.

An initial list of ideas for content is below. If you'd like to add/delete from this list, please feel free to do so.

-------------

· ‘Classes’ on the very fundamental issues of Islam – e.g. wudoo and prayer. These can/should be done in as clear a way as possible making use of animation, sound files, etc. For the prayer we can use human modelling software to animate the exact prayer movements. Add sound files which play alongside transliterations of the adhkaar of salaah to facilitate teaching of prayer

· General advice articles, such as explanations of the differences that occur amongst Muslims and how serious they are; the importance of keeping one person as a point of reference after reversion, etc.

· Discussion board? Initially, I’d like to link this to jannah.org/madina - if this proves popular we make the link permanent.

· List of Masajid/Islamic centres in London/UK. This won’t be a straight copy from the Muslim Directory – we obviously want to steer people away from shi’a and baha’is, etc.

· List of new Muslim classes available in London.

· New Muslim stories?

· Reading list?

There is a site already like this, I used to know the brother that ran this back in the day.

The main URL is this:
http://thetruereligion.org/

This has a good selection of convert stories:
