Listen to Shaykh Ajami reciting Surah Muhammad at www.jannah.com

If you're not a member on that web site (become one!!!), listen to it on islamway here:

http://www.islamway.com/arabic/images/quran/agmy/047.ram

If you understand the surah (especially if you've read Syed Qutb's tafsir on it), you'll see the true beauty of it.  Subhan Allah!

Masha'allah, i've been itching to be prompted on this. At the same site, you HAVE to listen to Sh. Sa'd al-Ghamidy's recitation of surah at-Tahreem, (#57?)

It is really beautiful masha'allah.

And also have you hear Imam Abdul-Bar' ath-Thubaity recite surah an-Najm? woah! Its great masha'allah. But unfortunately, not available on the web.

i humbly think that the best recitation of Surah Muhammad by anyone is by Mishary Rashid Al-Efasi..

http://www.islamway.com/arabic/images/quran/rashed/047.ram

and you are right..if you know the meaning.. it's amazing.!!

um, this question kind of belongs in 'media development', but, um, i thought maybe someone here knew the answer to this:

there's a page where it says you can download the entire quran recited by saad al-ghamdi (my favorite), but none of has real links.  is anyone familiar this page or does anyone have any suggestions where else to find this?

http://www.bris.ac.uk/Depts/Union/IslamicSoc/The%20Holy%20Qur'an.htm#Qur'an
audio - Entire Quran

one other question:  what happened that you have to sign in now at jannah.org?  if i'm a member here, why do i have to get a new membership there to listen to the things i used to listen to there anyway without ever having to sign in??  i'm confused...... :(

Sh. Ghamidi's recitations are awesome, mashallah. And Surah Tahreem is one of his best. .

http://www.islamway.com/arabic/images/quran/saad/066.ram

I also like Surah Hadeed. It is a powerful surah.

Wasalaam.

Mwishka, that link doens't work. Anyway, you can download Sh. Ghamidi recitations in either real or MP3 format from the following page:

http://english.islamway.com/echapters.php?recitor_id=5

Hmm, that is jannah.com not jannah.org :) Jannah.com requires registration to listen to the audio. Jannah.org radio page is free :)

jannah.com?!  now i'm really confused....    ok, maybe i haven't been there in longer than i thought, but i've only gone to jannah.org, never had to register, and always listened to everything i wanted to....that is, until a week or so ago.  i didn't even know there was a parallel jannah.com --- is jannah.org NOW jannah.com??

(where's the icon for really really really confused?)

brother asim,

that page comes up completely blank - hmmm...did i read something somewhere else here about islamway being out of commission?  hmmm..can't remember what it was i saw somewhere -- but, of course, it could just be the school server.  once the undergraduates leave, the rest of us are an invisible population and they muck around with our server all hours of the night and day with no announcement.  or it could be the "uphill" phenomenon that i joke about to cover for the school - that i live uphill from the school, so sometimes it makes sense that a message could take four hours to four days to reach me from the server....  ::)

perhaps you could check on that address for me..

Uphill theory eh? Of course, gravity slows down network packets (signals) as well!

Heh, okay, the address works fine for me. Try going from the home page:

http://www.islamway.com/

Click on English -> Quran -> Sa'd al-Ghamidi.

Yes, the page contain the entire quran, all 114 surahs or chapters. To download the real formatted files to your computer, right-click on the save links and select save target as (or something similar if you are using netscape). If you want to listen online, just click on the listen links.

Let me try again with the jannah.com confusion, although I am not quite sure what you are confused about. www.jannah.com is separate site, independent of this one (jannah.org). The link Abu Hamza gave is for jannah.com, and that site requires registration. The radio page on this site, http://jannah.org/jannahradio does not require registration. (although the text on the page is hard to read, and requires highlighting!).

Hope this was helpful.

ASalamu Alykum,

SubhanAllah surah al-waqi'ah by Mishary Al-Efasi  :-X
One of my sisters once told me, ( mashaAllah she understands Fush'ah arabic) that when she reads/recites the Quran she often thinks about how on the day of judgement Allah(swt) will hold her more accountable b/c the impact of understanding HIS(swt) direct words is so much more stronger than reading the translation. Whenever i read the translation i think about that.. May Allah(swt) help us learn, understand the Quran(fush'ah) better.

As-salaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullah

1) Al-Waaqi'ah by Al 'Efaasi
2) Yusuf by M. Al Baraak
3) Almost anything by 'Ajami, Ghamdi, Hudhaifi, etc.

Other really good recitations by Al 'Efaasi: Hud, Ibrahim, Sajdah, Naba' (I've heard 2 versions, one is much better).
