| [slm] are there any books or anywhere on the net where i can read detailed biographies of the scholars of Islaam? the likes of Imam Abdur Rahmaan al Awza'ee, Sufyaan ath Thawree, Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn Qayyim, Imam Nawawi, Ibn Kathir, at Tabari . . . .etc (may Allah have mercy upon them all) jazakAllah khayr |

| Dear " 'Uthmaan, " There is quite an impressive selection of both books and tapes available at Islamicbookstore.com. I do not think that the website will give you all the titles available. I hit it just recently and it seemed to me that there were a great number of items left out, (or items which you could only access if you knew the item number!!!) Your best bet, I think, is to let them know that you want a catalog, and have them send you one. It is pretty comprehensive - Books, cd's, videotapes of lectures, cassette recordings of lectures and so on. This catalog will have you going for your credit card on the spot! | Assalamu 'Alaikum I have been looking for Al-Awza'ee's biography for a while now, I was told I should look for it in a book called MOuntains of KNowledge, the authors name escapes me! I'm sure you'll find Sufyan Ath-thawree's in there as well. I don't know if the book is available on the net but if you do find Al-Awza'ees biography please post it up for me! thanks! |

| [slm] mashaa'Allah brother i have the book Mountains of Knowledge!! its not a biography of Imam Awza'ee, rather its a book of `aqeedah of the great Imams from among the salaf as salih from al Awza'ee(ra) to ibn Taymiyyah(ra). |

| Yes I'm aware of that, I know it's not a biography book. But there are some biographies in there. I was told that by a friend. But since you have the book I guess you know better. |
