The Importance of Using the Correct E-mail Address... It seems there was this couple from Minneapolis, Minnesota who decided to go to Florida for a few days to thaw out during one particularly cold winter. Because both of them worked, they had some difficulty coordinating travel schedules. They finally decided that the husband would leave for Florida on a certain day and the wife would follow him the day after. The man made it down to Florida as planned and went directly to his hotel. Once in his room, he decided to open his laptop and send his wife, who was still back in Minnesota, an e-mail. However, he accidentally left off one letter in typing his wife's e-mail address and sent the e-mail off without realizing his error. In another part of the country, a widow had just returned from the funeral of her husband who had died just a few days earlier. She decided to check her e-mail because she was expecting to hear from her husband's relatives and friends. Upon reading the first message she let out a loud scream, fainted and fell to the floor. The woman's son rushed into the room and found his mother lying on the floor. He glanced up at the computer screen and saw the following: To: My Loving Wife Subject: I've arrived! I've just checked in. Everything has been prepared for your arrival here tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then! Your Devoted Husband. P.S. Sure is hot down here! |

Assalamu'alaikum :) LOL! Oh Kathy... the article reminded me of something silly that I did. It was a couple years ago, and I was still at uni. I would sometimes call my sisters back at S'pore and see how they are doing, and would follow-up with an e-mail of afterthoughts, words of encouragement and suggestions etc etc etc. So, there I was, minding my own business, wrote a mail or a couple of them about marriage (coz, we spoke abt that... surprise, surprise :))... and it was a VERY long mail... bla bla bla.... What happened was that I missed a letter or added a letter in her e-mail address (can't remember!), and a brother :o has been receiving the mail(s), instead!!! :o I didn't know about it, till I received a reply that goes like... I read your mail with interest. I wish you all the best, and remember, rizq from Allah will come from manners and ways that we can't even conceive in our minds Well, it was longer that that, but I can't remember the rest. I was sooooo embarrased! The good thing abt e-mails is... my anonymity remained intact, alhamdulillah. Wassalam :-) |

assalaamu alaikum Once i wrote this e-mail which was quite anti-American, and i was kinda letting rip what i thought about the general American populace - not intelligent people or the Muslims - but what i thought of the masses. i accidentally sent it to Arshad, instead of the guy sitting behind me. (That feature on Outlook where you don't have to type in the entire e-mail address because it fills in the rest for you). He never replied.. lol. Kashif Wa Salaam |
