Lucky guys going on Umrah!!! :) what a wonderful way to start a marriage!

Ok advice... just know that because you've prayed Istikhara before getting married (and I'm sure you have) your marriage is for the best, and everything that you go through is for the best though it doesn't always seem like it.  You and your husband are the best people in the world for each other and Allah chose you for each other.  You'll see  ;)
Marriage is wonderful.  Enjoy it  :-*

Congratualtions and May Allah fill your marriage with much success and happiness.   :)

as for the advice-three words to live by when you're married-
LET IT GO!    :D

Seriously though, always respect your husband and never say anything hurtful in anger or when your upset or ever!  Put him and your family (insha'Allah) first and always guide each other towards righteous deeds in an invitijg and encouraging manner.  Make dua for  your husband and don't look at what your getting in the marriage but what your giving.  Insha'Allah, this way, Allah will place love and mercy between your hearts.
Again, congratulations!!!!

Awwwwww :) Jazakumu Allahu Khayran for all the kind wishes and duahs and advice ;D To the couples may Allah increase you in Mercy and kindness toward each other, to the single ones may Allah bring you closer to your Soul mate:)
Bro Jaihoon!!!! That's not fair:( If it weren't for the concepts of space and time, I would invite the whole of Madinat to celebrate this joyous and meaningful chapter of me life....but....then again, poetry can't be forced... So i guess i just have to live without a marriage poem ::)
Sis Kathy, Ahmed (his name) was raised a couple of neighborhoods away from me in Mombasa, is of yemeni origin (like me), lived in Saudi Arabia (like me), came to the U.S. six years ago (like me), studied information systems (like me), went to school with my oldest brother...his family knows mine...but I had *NO* Idea he existed till he came to propose!!!!!  :o :o My older brother (not the oldest), met him and was totally impressed by his Akhlaaq, and lifestyle. He came home after a trip to Ahmed's place (a couple of states away), and kept talking to me about this really nice brother....Me being rather slow at times....didn't get his intention ::) Not long after, Ahmed sent word to my father about a marriage proposal...it finally dawned on me  :-[ Anywayz, Mashaallah, I prayed Istikhara, and it went well...I copped out though the first time, cuz I was tooooooooo nervous about starting to get married...you know all the usual questions, "I am not ready", blah blah blah...and then I prayed again, and it went smoothly, and Subhana Allah, even the preparations are really smooth, and there is soooo much barakah, I feel sooo blessed Alhamdullillah. So Inshaallah Kheir.
I am sorry, I am rambling so much. I know its probably  wayyy more details then you wanted to know. I just have to survive the next two dayz of jitters and last minute details....

I love you all for the sake of Allah!
Jenna, I think one Madinat addict in a house is wayyyyyyyy more  than enough, but hey, who knows Jannah vibes spread like fragrances of jasmines scattered through life...
Maliha:-)

PS: Mama Mod, trust me if he passed Ummi's scrutiny, my father's iron fist, my brothers' defense shields, my own million dollar questionnare:)...I have faith he will pass the last and certainly not least...*MAMA MOD'S* Grand Prize Winning Finale ;D Since he will be my hubby by then..i can give him some tips right? ;)

:) don't take that hard.

The poetic spirit is awakened in this one only when a real life situation stimulates. My imagination is too poor (prehaps the reason y i cant enjoy a fiction novels). Nyways, i'll give that a thoguht. insha Allah.

like me... like me... that's a lot of 'like you'. And that's a good reason for you to actually LIKE him.  ;)

May Allah instill harmony in this 'like me' symphony of your life. When all the instruments are in accord= the flute-like love, the sitar-like care, the piano-like respect= it produces a lot of understanding between both.

::) seems quite natural for a to-be bride.  :'(  :D

Quite out of context, yet, there is a special art fom (women-onl dance) in my home country that belittles the worry of the bride. dunno abt other cultures.

All the best.  8)

As salamu alaikum my sister in Islam,

Today is my first day at Jannah.org.  What a wonderful place this is; mashaAllah to the people that set it all up!  And as for all these wonderful icons...oof!  Suddenly the child within me is unleashed ;D

Ok, I don't really have any naseeha to impart on you, but I thought you might appreciate this which was sent to me from a lovely sister.

Here goes:  You ready?  Cool...Here it is:

If you love something, set it free.
If it comes back, it will always be yours.
If it doesn't come back, it was never yours to begin with.
But, if just sits in your living room, messes up your stuff, eats your food, uses your telephone, takes your money, and doesn't appear to realise that you had set it free.......
You either married it or gave birth to it.

:o

:P

Always remember that beautiful hadeeth about being garments to each other.  You have been blessed  :-*

Congratulation!! on the wedding  :)  You sounded so happy especially in your last post ... I could really feel your happiness from the post  :)  You asked a line or two of naseeha from the married ones...how bout naseeha from single ones ?;)

I know a naseeha to them would be go and get married now ;D I think most singles would have their vision on the kind of marriage life when/if they marry(insha allah)l. My personal naseeha (vision) to you is to accept and love each other unconditionally and stand by each other through good and bad times.

I pray that you have a blessed and wonderful marriage life :)

Miss_Fiya, welcome to the board :) That is so cool ;) I guess when you accept and love unconditionally, those things can be the beauty of either married or gave birth to it/them :)

Thank you for your kind welcome...this is day 2 for me at Jannah  :)

So much to read...and oh-so-many *faces*.

Is there a place where I can go and look at people's profiles 'n' stuff?   It would be nice if we could all get acquainted with one another.  I really enjoy meeting people, especially sisters and brothers and even virtual faceless ones too  ;D

Yes so umm...yup, thanks for welcoming me!   Oh and I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section.  Me is very new here  :-[

slm,

OOOH! The big day! :-X :-X :-X  Congratulations!  i know that you won't be checking this site for probably a month or more, but I still wanted to throw my congrats in.  Besides, I love threads about weddings and jitters and fun stuff like that!  I think we should keep this thread going even though Maliha will probably take a short leave from the board ;)   Why doesn't someone else tell us about their pre-wedding jitters, how they got over it, etc??

I didn't really have pre-wedding jitters...My house was full of cousins and friends..so it was like a big slumber party that lasted a week.  Then the day of the wedding, I was all chill and relaxed and just couldn't wait for it all to be over so that I could start the second part of my life.  Alhamdulillah...it was fun, but I wouldn't want to go through that whole thing again :)

Take Care,
