Control of Child Birth

Asalaam-alaikum,

I'm a new convert from Chrisitanity to Islam, the true religion.  I'm still in the process of learning soooo many things.  The one thing that is bothering
me is the topic of controlling child-birth.  I did learn that Islam does not  allow a woman to have any procedure or surgery done to prevent her from
having children, unless it is necessiated for critical health purposes.  She is
allowed to control the time between each child.

My problem is, while I was a Christian, I had my tubes tied (tubal ligation)
after I had my third child.  Now that I have embraced Islam, I don't know
what to do. I know the procedure can be reversed but it would
be very expensive.  If I have to get it done, then I cannot afford it.  Thinking
about all these aspects is very frustrating. Can somebody advise me what
to do?

Jazak Allah Khair

Do you want more kids?

I am not a scholar, nor a learned one, but I am pretty sure you don't have to worry about this.

The tubal happened before your shahadah.
