Aint that the truth! Alhamdulilah, I have almost finished my 2nd year of medical school, so i'm studying for usmle step 1, aka, the boards right now.  Please make some dua for me that i pass!

I took the MCAT and just squeaked by, alhamdulilah, but I'm in one of those combined programs where you had to get a certain minimum score to matriculate onto the medical school. I actually didn't pass them the 1st time i took it, so i took the princeton review course the 2nd time around and i thought that really helped. If you have any questions, i'd be glad to answer them!  Good luck studying!

we have pre-med undergraduates work in our lab every year.  their combined advice (i poll them all) is this:  use the best practice test guide you can find, make yourself a study schedule and STICK TO IT!  no missing study sessions for any reason.  they've been divided on the best book to use, but all agreed you need to start taking the practice tests right away as soon as you schedule for the test, so you know what you need to do more work on.  "our" undergraduates generally score above 35, some a good bit above, so i guess this method works.  the lowest score any of them ever got (or at least that i heard about) was 33, so what they're doing must work.

hope this helps you, and good luck!  and don't just pretend about timing the tests, either - time yourself for real.  it helps deal with the pressure of the real test .
