assalaamu alaikum Good spot Zara. I would like to find out WHERE i can buy some Moroccan coats to WEAR. *smile* khair, i met some Moroccan brothers at Regents Park Masjid over Ramadan who were wearing the most beautiful of these coats and ever since then i've wanted one for myself. Unfortunately, i've lost contact with them since then. btw Zara, Green St. is Desi Street. I was expecting that perhaps some of these arab shops are in West London? Kashif Wa Salaam |

[slm] try: Fez 71 Golborne Road, London W10 5NP Tel: (020) 8964 5573 Also come to Bayswater/Westbourne Park there is a big Morrocan communtiy here. The MCHC is a Cultural Centre in Wesbourne Park/Ladbroke Grove that has a lot of Morrocans that may know more about Morrocan clothing in London. |

[slm] i live in East London also and the best place you'll find the morrocon coat is in a shop called Zam Zam ( islamic books & clothes shop), its right next to Upton Park Station. I've seen loads there all in different colours, but i'm not a 100% if there woolen, but they order loads all the time. i suppose u could ask them if they could orser one of those for ya hope that helps. |

Assalamu alaikum, Ok ok, allow me to set you straight :) They are not "hooded coats". They are called Jellabas (jilbab in Moroccan Arabic). They make them for men and for women thought the women's styles are a little different, some like shoulder pads, bigger or smaller hoods, different colors etc. For men, the style doesn't change so much but the material does. You can have them made out of wool, cotton or anything else, fine or thick, light or heavy, summery or wintery, patterned (mostly striped) or plain, colors or white. so, do you still know what you want Bro Kashif? :) |
