Salam alaikum wrwb,
A little about me..hmmm. lets see. I became muslim in the begining of 99' (or maybe the very end of 98') ?? Im american, currently living in Egypt. I love to read about deen and I love to shop. Things for me right now are hard, but Im depending on Allah to help me and take away my pains. I love computers and I love cats and birds :) Ive memorized some surahs from the Quran alhamdulilah, and Im working on memorizing more. Im trying to learn arabic, I can understand more than I can talk, but it has to be egyptian dialect. My FAVORITE sheikh in the whole world, may Allah have mercy on him, Sheikh Albaany. I havent went to Mekka yet, but its a dream I hope someday will come true. My revert story isnt too interesting, but Im sooooo happy Allah chose me out of so many! Allahu Akbar, His blessings are so much on us!! Ok, thats a little about me..dont know what else to say  :-)

[slm]  :-* Welcome to the "sisterhood" Sr. Fatimah :)

I would like to assist you in any way i can, even if it is only to keep in touch.

We have a school here in Durban which is administered by the Al-Azhaar Institute in Egypt.  Masha Allah, it is a highly recommended school for kids :)

Are you studying in Egypt?

What are your hobbies like?

salam alaikum wa rahmatu Allah wa Barakatu,
Al-Azhaar is a really good school, mashaAllah. One of my friend's kids go there here in Egypt. MashaAllah they memorize a lot of quran so early.  Im not studying here, though I wish I could. I was going to a Dar for awhile. Its a place to memorize quran. My hobbies, lets see.... I LOVE to read, and its my dream to learn to sew. I bought a sewing machine and it just sits here and collects dust. I did make a couple skirts  :)  I still call it my hobby though. I also love to make things with plastic canvas. I love sports, but I havent been able to play any since I came here. Is shopping a hobby? I dont go much, because there is a hadith that say that the markets are the worst places, but when I do go...I shop till I drop  ;D

Thank you guys for writing to me..I really need the company right now.

Ok, so what are your guy's favorite islamic books? *besided the Quran of coarse, thats #1*
What do you do in the day to pass time?

Welcome to the community!  I am new at this site also.

It's great that you're living in Egypt; I'm going there next month!  How long have you been there and how are you finding it?

I can definitely relate to feeling like you just need to talk to people who share Islam in common.  Reading the posts on this site certainly keeps my spirits up!

salam alaikum,
Ive been here in Egypt for almost 3 years now. I like it here, but I was very suprised to see the state of the muslims. There is a lot of munker (bad)going on. But then again, you can find the most wonderful sisters and brothers here. There is A LOT of knowledge here to be obtained. I know I probably wouldnt know half of what I know, if I wasnt here. I did have to get used to the big change between the US and here though. I sure miss Doritos and going to the park! Where in Egypt will you be going to? and for how long?
