| [slm] I'm a new member of this wonderful site that I stumbled upon at the most convenient time. I've been going through a renewal of faith, and finding this site has made this stronger. You have a wonderful community here, masha'allah! My family immigrated to Canada from the Middle East when I was 12. We moved to a small town where there were NO MUSLIMS. Unfortunately, this contributed to my losing my path of obedience to Allah. I never lost my faith, but unfortunately Islam became a distant concept. Now, 12 years later, this is no longer the case, ilhamdulillah. I am now working hard at becoming a better Muslim. It is difficult and I still feel very lonely when it comes to religion and spirituality. Asides from my immediate family, I have no network of Muslim friends or relatives here in Canada. I now live in a big city, where I know there are many muslims, but I don't really KNOW any muslims. I'm a very social person, and all my friends are non-muslim. So needless to say, this website has been very refreshing and inspirational for me. I hope that it will be the first step of many leading me to a deeper and more solid life as a muslimah. |

| Welcome to our wonderful community. I'm new to it as well and still kinda new to islam ( 3 yrs alhamdulillah ) and i know what you've been through. where i grew up there are no muslims, and here ( in CA) there are tons.
