| salam alaikum wrwb, :-) I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in me posting a bunch of islamic terms.. I have a dictonary full of them. It could help us all learn the arabic language. Please let me know. Here's an example of what I would post: حب فى الله [hubbun fi Allah] Love for Allah's sake. مستحب [mustahab] Recommendable, desirable I also have a bunch of common language phrases too. Like this: صباح الخير [sabaaH al-khayr] Good morning أفهم [afham] I understand لا أفهم [laa afham] I don't understand I could also post the arabic alphabet in case someone who doesnt know it is interested. I have the arabic/english keyboard. Just let me know what you think.. Jazak Allah khair. |

| sis fatimah, that could be very helpful here, but first check out two sources that already appear here - the glossary in madina "help" and the vocabulary pop-up boxes. but i know myself that my transliterated arabic dictionary is not very helpful most of the time for arabic use in an islamic context, and i think there are quite a number of people here interested in learning arabic, so i think words and expressions like the examples you gave would be very helpful. but, i think you have to use transliterated arabic letters for it to be legible here...... mwishka |
