| [slm] as far as I know you don't - you buy it ;D no seriously though, unless you have a "smoke chamber" built in under your stairs you're not going to be able to make it. It really is made by hanging it in a room which is filled with smoke. Get some nice Irish person to send you over some from the Dublin Duty Free - there is a seriously good fish shop there, an outlet of a shop which is based in Dun Laoghaire (where the ferries sail from). My mother brought me some last time she came over and I ended up giving it away to someone coz me or Hubby don't like it :P wasalaam eleanor :-* |

| assalaamu alaikum jzk for the info. I had no idea you needed your own smoke chamber. I guess i could light a small bonfire in the garden and hang some salmon slivers over it on the washing line, but what would the neighbours think? Kashif Wa Salaam |

| I know I am updating an old thread but I love smoked salmon this way: cut bagel in half and toast, spread cream cheese some smoked salmon and then thin slices of raw onion and tomatoes. OOHHH YYYUUMMMM --- I haven't had that in forever!! |
