I am sharing this e-mail with my sweet sisters especially  :). Few months back I experienced strange symptoms of swelling on my legs.  This is very unusual in young age so my family was after me for getting all kidney related tests. Our intelligent doctors couldn’t get any conclusion out my medical tests  and mean while i get a chance to  read the following e-mail(Blessing and prayers for sister Sabirah). I just thought of trying it and believe me I did try it  for seven days.  NO FOOD FOR SEVEN DAYS...  I do not believe myself but the results were amazing.  I started noticing the positive effects of this master cleanser after two days.... and after seven days I was perfect. So just try it.  I believe it's best for those who want to lose weight (I am already smart (I guess :)) so I didn’t notice how much I lost during a week.  But I remember I felt myself really really light.

I do not want to disclose sister Sabirah's e-mail  address in public. So Ladies if you have any questons or if you want to talk to sister Sabirah directly send me your e-mail at aliasifa@yahoo.com

Subject: Weight Problems.........

As'salaamu Alaikum Sisters.........i've heard several sisters speak about
weigh problems and i've found a solution that has worked for me and i
want to share this with you........i'm not overweight but there are times when
i want
to lose a few pounds....there is this cleanser called "the master
cleanser"..its also known as the "lemonade" diet........its a wonderful
cleanser and all natural...it also helps in reducing your dress
size.....the
ingredients are as follows:

bottled water (no tap water is to be used)
2 tablespoons "pure" maple syrup (not regular syrup)
2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice (real lemons/limes, no substitute
bottled
juice)
pinch of cayenne pepper

you are to drink six to ten 8 oz bottles a day from a minimum of 7 days
to a maximum of 40 days.........nothing else goes in your body during this time...its a master cleanser....for people who smoke it knocks the
taste right out of your mouth..it actually cleanses your entire body...if you get boils, high blood pressure, whatever sickness, illness you have will be cleansed....

if you do a search on the web for "master cleanser" or lemonade diet
you can read how each ingredient works to rid your body of toxins...in order for this to work you must not put anything else in your body....it takes discipline to do this but i guarantee you will see results in 7 days........after completing my 7 days the first time i felt like i was floating...lost 2 dress sizes and never felt better...i do this master cleanser now every six months....once you do this you will not want to drink another pepsi, coke, etc...you will not want to put anything bad in your body again....its an incredible feeling...another thing you will not feel hungry or tired...you may be a little cranky while your body adjusts but that feeling won't last...its good even if you don't want to lose weight...its a internal body cleanser........it will work for anyone....by the way i could only drink 3 bottles a day!  six bottles was
just too much for me!  if anyone wants to try this let me know.......

Peace and Blessings, Sabirah!

I've heard of this before.. except here you are allowed to drink any clear fluids - ie water or clear vegetable soup, or any pure juices. On the first day you have to take a mixture of water and "bitter-salt" (I don't know the correct name for it - mwishka?) which cleanses your bowels and inner system - ie you get the runs for a day. This cleans all the toxins and bad stuff out of your body. Once you do this then your body is clean and you don't feel hungry anymore. It's recommended to do it for 3 days to a week but I know some people who have fasted for up to a month using this.
I have never tried it, but those who have say you don't feel hungry anymore, you lose weight, and you regain all your lost energy. Worth a try huh?

Woahhhh I can just see legions of girls trying this out. Not eating for 7 days is pretty drastic and shouldn't be done without the consent and knowledge of a doctor. So please don't.

Assalamu alaikum
I'd be VERY careful before tryign this out, and I don't think anyone should just try it because it worked for someone else.  No protein for 7 days does not sound healthy at all, let alone no vitamins or minerals.
Also, there has been a recent discovery of a hormone that regulates appetite.  The amount of this hormone just soars after an intensive diet, and people have a very hard time keeping the weight off.  I finally understood why I had such a huge appetite after I got back from hajj after I'd been eating virtually nothing for about 2 weeks.

ok, i'm going to admit that i avoided this because it just made me mad, and i'm not "allowed" to write if i feel any kind of anger.

i'll only be able to get out a sentence or so before i have to get out of here again, i can feel myself starting to get mad again.

this is all i'll say: nope.  can't say anything.  really having trouble here.  fast for a day if you like.  one day every month if you like, but do it in the safety of your home so as not to endanger others by that light feeling meaning your brain is no longer functioning.  fast for over three days especially repeatedly and don't be surprised at the failure of your organs as you age, strange fluctuations in function that come and go and can't be fixed.  and maybe nothing like that will happen to you.  and plus, WOW! you get to be a smaller size.  THAT'S worth long term damage to your body??  your husband, your children, your parents -- they don't need you to be their for them, happy and healthy later on?  they need to endure your possible repeated need for medical tests and treatment and doctor visits, in your small size body?

ok, i have to go because i have a lot of forgiveness to ask for.....  sister asifa, forgive me.  this is the second time i have needed to ask that of you, and i'm sorry.  it's my own fault, and my personality, and not anything to do with you.....

MF:  it wasn't discovered recently.  a new study made a definite link to what has been theorized for years.  i'm really sorry, i can't contribute here.

I used to do this kind of thing all the time but my doctor called it an eating disorder, not a miracle cure.  Of course you will lose weight if you do nothing but drink for seven days.    Unfortunately, by doing this you are encouraging your body to eat itself, and not just fat. Muscles, tissue, and brain matter are on the menu as well. When I was starving myself I often felt "euphoric." That may be the "floating" feeling described.  People who routinely starve themselves often suffer diminished brain capacity, sometimes long-term.  I know we are talking about *just* a seven day fast here, but as someone who is in recovery from an ED (thank God) and now studies personal training,  I really hate these psuedo-scientific diets that tell women its a good thing to starve themselves, just so they can drop a few pounds.  Women are under enough pressure to be thin - please, think twice before posting any information that encourages them to STARVE themselves. If you want to lose weight, do it in a healthful fashion.  Cut back on junk food and portion size, and get some exercise.

Also, with out going into the details of it, I would like to mention that I started coming to this board when I was in the worst time of my ED, and a lot of what I read here about Islam helped pull me out.
