[slm] I have a question. Yesterday a sis told me about a "hadith" which says...that if a husband is upset about his wife her prayers wont be accepted. I was quite shocked :o and I find this comment really really hard. I cannot believe that this should be valid as a hadith. I really doubt that. Did you ever hear somehting like this? Can anybody give more information? Jazakallahukhayr [slm] |

[slm] what??!!ive never heard abt such a hadith. really strange!!! ..........what if the husband isnt a true believer of Allah(subhannahu wa talah) and his wife is and he is upset abt this, it would be unjustful to punish her by not accepting her prayers. nay i dont think it cant be btw:you sure this was the exact hadith?? [wlm] suha :-* |

[slm] im not a shikh or anything but i think it when the man wants to be with his wife (sexually) and she denies, then the angels curse her until the morning (fajr). also, there are things in which the man may be punished, for example if the husband does not give his wife full sexually satisfaction, adn only gives it to himself, that is a sin. the thing is .... in islam, many times things are said or meant for both sexes but only the male version is used. but i dont know if it applies to the above statement. may Allah(SWT) forgive me if i said anything wrong wasalam nouha:) |

Waalaikum assalam Sorry...I forgot to say...that if the man is justifiably upset about her..... well....anyways...I cannot imagine that any act with a human being can influence my prayer, my conversation to Allah. That sounds "man-made" for me.... I asked the sister, but she did not reply yet, where she has it from. Assalamu alaikum :-) |

Jazak-Allahu-khayran sis Nouha The sis who told me about the "hadith" didn't mean the ones you were pointing at. But I agree with you, that you hear always ahadith which concern the rights of men, although there are a lot about the rights of women. But anyhow nobody (even women) wants to hear that. Salam Hayal :-) |

salam alaikum wrwb, I tried to look up the hadith you are looking for.. This is what I found: Jabir bin Abdullah reported Allah's Messenger [saw] as saying: {There are three (types of) persons whose prayers are not accepted and whose good deeds are not raised up to Heaven: a runaway slave, until he returns to his master and his hand in his: a woman whose husband is angry with her, until he becomes pleased with her: and a drunk, until he becomes sober} (Ibn Habban and Baihaqi) I looked this hadith up in a program I have on the computer to see if it were saheeh (authentic) or not... Sheikh AlBaani made it daief (weak). Meaning we do not take it. Im not sure if there is another hadith to this nature that is correct or not, this is just what I found. So if this sis comes up with the hadith she was telling you about, and this is it..dont worry. Its weak. Hope this helps :-) |
