| um, i know i haven't put up any stories from my trip..... :( even with shahida gently prodding me... ;) so, here's one little one, from something i wrote to bro kashif. it's such a clear image in my mind, and one of the times i most thought of madina people while i was, um gone. about 2:30 am sunday we were directly over london! i could the city as its pattern of lights, and could see a wide river which i took to be the thames, being crossed by four large bridges. i could see what must be north london spread out away from me, and said to myself "bro kashif is down there somewhere, sound asleep. and mujaahid, too!" and other londoners, but i couldn't remember who is and who isn't in london. muqaddar is somewhere not london, i think. bro hanif? can't remember... did you feel us fly over, captive and sad as we were? maybe have a disturbance in your dreams? mwishka i'll try to get my notes expanded into real stories...... see, part of the problem is that now that i'm back i'm edging back into regular daily life, and it took forever to get rested - it's easier for me to reply to things other people have written here than it is to let myself even begin to start writing, expanding the whole terribly sad long story. i WILL try to share it with you, but for now you may get only tidbits like this. there are other short little impressions i have written down, too, and maybe they have to come first before i can allow myself the long long periods of time i know i will enter and have a hard time removing myself from once i start writing here.... mwishka |
