The Israeli government decided today to expel "the families of
suicide bombers" from the West Bank to the Gaza Strip. The Israeli
security cabinet took the decision in principle Friday but awaited
the outcome of a legal review.

The legal part was not going to be an obstacle, since, as Israeli
Minister of Internal Security Uzi Landau suggested, Israel could
declare a state of emergency. This ultimately would undermine the
law.

This step comes within a series of escalating steps the Israeli
government intends to implement during the next phase:

- The expulsion of Yasser Arafat to the Gaza Strip
- The expulsion of "Palestinians involved in terror" and
personalities close to Arafat from West Bank to Gaza Strip
- The expulsion of "families of suicide bombers" from West Bank
to Gaza Strip

The Israeli government decided today to establish the "dividing wall"
and approved the resumption of its implementation. Israeli Foreign
Minister Shimon Peres voted against the plan due to the necessity to
annex Arab land. The decision came during the Israeli government's
weekly meeting today, following objections from the extreme Israeli
right.

The Israeli Defense Ministry declared in a statement released today
that Israel has no intention of reactivating the Israeli army "civil
administration" in the Palestinian territories. The statement said
that the Israeli army will "enable Palestinian civil insitutions to
continue operating, as well as to ensure that aid agencies which
assist the Palestinians in the field of health, education,
infrastrcuture and supply of food and water, were able to continue
operating."

Sharon Kills the Children of Jenin for the Settlers??
By Muhammad Daraghma for al-Ayyam Palestinian Daily newspaper

All the images and stories from the city of Jenin tell one story that
leaves no doubt in any of its chapters. The story says that Israeli
occupation soldiers intentionally killed a number of civilians
(Friday, 21 June 2002), especially children, in order to please the
settlers, hours after the `Itmar' incident.

The Israeli army spokesperson said that a tank fired one missile by
mistake at a group of people in the market, which led to the death of
the four people and the wounding of twenty others.

However, witnesses on the ground tell a different story. They say
that at least three tanks fired missiles and opened fire from three
different locations, targeting groups of children in front of their
homes and inside cars and others in the market buying supplies after
three days of an unexpected curfew.

At once and together, tanks based in three locations opened fire, the
first targeted a group of children playing in front of their homers
in al-Basatin residential quarter north of Jenin, the second targeted
children inside their parents' car on Nablus Street in the south and
the third targeted a home on Mount Abu Thuheir in the center.

Israeli tanks fired missiles and heavy machine gun fire, wounding
over 20 people and killing three children and a schoolteacher.

One of the wounded Muhammad Abdallah, 63 years old, says he heard
that the curfew was lifted and as he was heading to a nearby pharmacy
he saw the tank near the bakery fire a missile towards the south, and
then directed its front towards the road he was taking and fired a
missile at the teacher Hilal ****ta's home. "I later found out that
he was killed in the attack," said Muhammad, who was wounded by
missile shrapnel.

The father of the two children Ahmad (6 years old) and Khalil Abdel
Aziz (12 years old) who were killed in front of their home in al-
Basatin quarter said that his children were playing in front of the
house when a tank only a few hundred meters away fired a missile at
them.

According to sources in Jenin Hospital, the missile targeted the
children directly. The lower parts of their bodies were shattered.

Israeli tanks attacked homes in the same area with heavy machine gun
fire, resulting in dozens of injuries, some critical.

In a third location, Nablus Street, an Israeli tanks targeted a
civilian car with machine gun fire, killing a little girl, Sujud
Fahmawi (6 years old). Sujud's bother Nael (12 years old) and sister
Shada (2 years old) were wounded. Sujud's father, Ahmad, was driving
them to the market at the time.

Witnesses reported that the tank that targeted the car was only a few
dozen meters away.

A number of those wounded and are still in hospital receiving
treatment said that the Israeli soldiers waited for the streets to
fill up with people before shelling the area, a story proven by the
images shown on satellite television channels.

All the evidence points in one direction, that Israeli military
forces were given orders to commit the crime against the children of
Jenin to satisfy the Israeli public opinion, especially in the
settlements, the day after the incident in which three children
from `Itmar' settlement were killed by a Palestinian (PFLP member) in
an attack on the settlement.
