Jewelry w/ Quranic verses

[color=Teal] [slm] Some sisters or even brothers like to wear necklaces with the word Allah (swt) or verses from the Quran.  I have been taught that when someone goes to the bathroom he/she should place this piece of jewelry in the mouth until he/she exits the bathroom.  Is this true or is this something cultural?  Jazakum Allah Khair for any information. [slm] Dear sweet sister: I have found the answer at www.islam-qa.com which has mashAllah a TREASURE of knowledge fr. the Qur'aan and sunnah and subhanAllah the answers to every type of question u can imagine .i hope this helps . Question: Can my wife enter the bathroom with a neckless that has words of the Qur'an on it? Answer: Praise be to Allaah. It is not permitted to enter the bathroom with anything that has aayat from the Qur’aan on it, because this could lead to disrespect of the Word of Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted. Therefore, your wife should remove this necklace before entering the bathroom. Our advice is that women should not wear any jewellery with aayaat or du’aa’s on it, because there are a number of reservations about this practice, of which wearing it when entering the bathroom is just one.
