| Salaam Alikum Insha Allah on July 4th in Albany there will be many people down at the plaza for fire works and various other events. There should be roughly 75,000 people there. Myself and a couple other individuals will be down there starting at around 4 pm collecting signatures on a petition to help our brothers and sisters in Palestine. A copy of the Petition is located here in the Albany section of the board. Insha Allah we will also be passing out flyers and information about the situation in Palestine and talking to people. I will also have hudreds of pamphelts on Islam and possibly copies of the Quran to give out to people. This will be a good oppurtunity to give dawah to people here in our community and also to educate people about the situation in Palestine. | I dont really care what people say to me i have nothing to fear but Allah. I am willing to risk get harrassed by a couple of people just to turn 1 on to Islam or to educate people about the situation in Palestine. We need to reach out to our community. InshaAllah there will be a big turn out there and there is a good possbility for me and others to collect lots of signatures and hand out lots of information. What does it matter if someone says something to us that is the will of Allah. I am muslim and praise be to God I am glad that I am. If anyone says something to me I know Allah will take that into accord on the day of judgement. Also what do we care if people say things we have to be strong muslims look at what the Prophet and his followers expierenced for the faith all the hardships. We must be in the forefront and not be afraid there is no power but Allah. We must spread the truth to those who are in need. |

| as salaamu alaykum, I'm down with having no fear but One fear.. all I'm saying is that I think we should make sure our daawa efforts are done effectively, and with a consideration of the probable consequences of our actions. That's part of the way Rasulullah [saw] gave daawa right.. there was a lot of deliberation and thought to his method. So it's not about fear of people talking trash but about whether doing this will be of benefit, considering the situation/environment. Allahu a'lam. I always wanted to set up a table at Tulip Fest.. maybe next year inshaAllah? :) wasalaam |

| [slm] I agree with the Sr , Allah swt says and the prophet [saw] showed us that spread the word of Allah swt with Hikmah. This is the time when people are intoxicated with "patriotisim" and "Muslims vis a vis 9/11" add in some alcohol and there you have a heady brew . I personally think they would not be receptive to your message , but hey if you still think its okie to go ahead ,I advice you to stick to one theme (either Islam or Muslims and Palestine) although you rightly feel the issues are insepreable. All said and done Allah is the moulder of hearts May Allah swt accept you Br yunus and reward you both here and the hereafter Ameen Please pray for me [wlm] |
