| Assalamu alaikum ok, i have to admit that i did not introduce myself since i'm a member of this community. so maybe it would be fair if i did that now. :) Or is that too late ??? ??? as some of you possibly know, I'm female, student, from Germany (turkish background). The only sis I *really* know (at least by phone) is my dear sister Shahida :-* umm....i really don't know what else to say....... :) Salamu alaikum your sister :-) |

A strange character too... thinks she looks younger than her husband ;), and has a soft spot for sundaes... you can find her at the Lighthouse most of the time... trying to help guide some ships.... | Waalaikum assalam wa rahmatullah wa barakatu wow thanks for your replies :) Soo...what shall I tell about germany, maybe sis eleanor did already tell you a lot ??? I made the experience that many ppl abroad think that the german ppl all wear this traditional suits (Lederhosen) like in bavaria. hihi... And that they drink lots of beer watch football (soccer) and bawling around their national anthem (I know I'm exaggerating) :-/ :-* ;D ;) Germans are actually ok. A little stiff like the brits maybe ;) ;D The muslim communities are alhamdulillah growing and we are building and organising at our university as much as we can to inform the ppl about Islam but also about Palestine. Umm.............some German words.... ich liebe dich...was really good an. Hope you know what it means hihihi ;D I can teach you some other, similar sentences inshaAllah...if you like :) Ok here you go: Ich möchte Deutsch lernen = I'd like to learn German Wie heisst Du? = What's your name? Wie alt bist Du? = How old are you? Ich mag dich = I like you Willst Du mich heiraten? = hehehe.......the one who guesses the english meaning wins 100 points ;) It's also not difficult to find out if you follow the order (hope you all know that I'm joking) Assalamu alaikum :-) |

Court Bans Muslim Teacher's Headscarf Fri Jul 5, 8:09 AM ET BERLIN (Reuters) - A Berlin court ruled on Thursday that an Afghan school teacher may not wear her headscarf during class because it would compromise a strict code of neutrality in German schools. Fereshta Ludin, 30, had been fighting for the right to wear her headscarf for four years after authorities in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg refused to employ her on the grounds that the garment was a religious symbol. Ludin insisted that her headscarf was simply an obligatory part of Muslim dress and was part of her religious freedom to wear it while carrying out her duties as a teacher. The judge said while he did not think Ludin had missionary motives, pupils in state schools were entitled to an education free from the influence of foreign religions. |
