It might be the format you're saving it in.. Try converting it to MP3 and then saving it onto a CD as data. MP3 compresses regular audio files so you could fit the whole Quran on 2 CDs...

Well I checked under properties and it IS a mp3 file. Only surah baqaraa is 75 MB. I am no computer freak but it seems kinda too much. Is there any other way I could fit some stuff on a CD?? ::) JazakaAllahu khairan for ur help.

Assalaamu alaikum,

A formatted CD can store 700MB of data. I recently saved MP3 recitations of Ghamidi, Efaasi (the ones available on islamway.com; not complete), and Abdul Baset (last juz) on one CD. All MP3 files for Ghamidi amount to like 350 MB.

So I am not sure what might be the problem. Does the CD have other data on it? What software are you using to format and copy data? If you are trying to burn the CD (that is create an audio CD that can run on a CD player) then you will need a CD burning software like realone player to convert the MP3 into wav and copy it to the CD. In this case you can only save about 80 min of recitation, which is like surah aal-imraan.

Wasalaam.
