| [slm] Let me kick off by saying, that this seriously feels like a community. Masha Allah, it's great that such a forum exists. I was told to drop by this site, because a brother was concerned about my <scoff> moral health. As scary as that sounds, I am merely a cynic with fast fingers and a lot of time on my hands. (On account of this being the cyber world.) I live in Canuck Land (officially known as Canada, what I prefer to call Cana-DUH). Actually, if I end up visiting this place regularly, you might as well get used to my jokes about Canada (no offence intended to any other fellow Canadians: I assure you, I love the red, white, moose, geese, curling <rolling my eyes>, maple syrup, and the Leafs (not the Oilers) as much as you might.) I debated whether or not to introduce myself at all. Then I decided that I might as well give it a shot, simply because I wouldn't want to offend anyone during that course of any debates that might ensue. It would never be my intent, as you are, and insha Allah, will remain, my brothers and sisters. Any other information that might help you discern as to my position regarding argument: I am a student of economics (taught at a right-wing school with right wing profs), I am skeptical of science (fares well with my fellow muslims), and I have VERY limited knowledge about our deen. Learning, nevertheless... Yes, I was born muslim. Yes, I was raised muslim. Yes, I am muslim. Yes, I practice Islam. But... (Scared ya didn't I?) No buts. I promise. In conclusion, let me reiterate: I like this place, so I don't mean to offend any of you. Ever. [wlm] SF. |
