Assalam alaikum warahmatullah! Inshallah you are all well and in the best state of imaan. I pray that this benefits you all the way it benefited me or even better. I have taken this from a section of the book, 'patience and gratitude' by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah. The realation of patience to imaan is like the relation of the head to the body, and the one who has no patience had no imaan. Allah (swt) has commanded patience for the believers in the following ayah; 'O you who believe! seek help with patient preserverance (sabr) and prayer...' (al-Baqarah 2:153) Patience has also been made a condition for a person's entering paradise and being saved from Hellfire; On the Day of Judgement Allah will say; 'I have rewarded them this day for their patience and constancy (patience); they are indeed the ones that have achieved Bliss..' (al-Mu'minun 23:111) And also Allah says; '..(It is righteousness..) to be firm and patient, in pain or suffering and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the God - fearing.' (Al-Imran 3:146) Allah has told us; '..And be patient and preserving; for Allah is with those who patiently perserve.' (al-Anfal 8:47) And remember Allah says; 'Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope..' (Al-Baqarah 2:286) May Allah make us amongst those who are patient and amongst those who in the highest ranks of jannah...Ameen!! wa alaykum asalam warahmatullah |

[wlm] Mashallah the book is very good and i recommend it to any of you who havn't read it yet. After reading the book my ability of patience was strengthened Alhamdullilah. I think the best part of the book was reading the qualities of the sahabah, and the great amount of patience they had, and reading the benifits of patience, the reward of having patience and the list goes on. Yes Mashallah Ibn Qayyim al- Jawziyyah's books are very heart softening, May Allah have mercy upon him, Ameen sis Faatimah i hope you enjoy your read, and benefit from it in the best ways Inshallah. [wlm] your sis wardah :-) |
