Embarassing driving moments

I'm sure you all have some, feel free to share them. :P  I'll start off, once when I was getting gas at the gas station, I put the nozzle in the car  and started to fill up, then when the gas was done I just drove off witht he nozzle still in the gas tank.  Ooops.   :o   I then stopped and went back to get my gas cap and put it on the car, the gas attendant came out there and he looked pretty mad, I told him I was sorry, he didn't say a word to me, just looked at the nozzle, put it back and we went our separate ways.

Another time I was at a fast food window waiting to pick up my order, I payed them and then took off without getting my food.  I drove back after making a u-turn at the next light went inside and explained my situation.  Everyone inside laughed, and said oh so you were the drive-by guy.  :(

So whose next?

p.s. Se7en only limit it to your 10 most embarassing moments.

Asalaamu Alaikum ;-)

Hmmm…….haven't really had any to be fair.

Of course I don't count the time I was reversing with not a car in sight and I hit a lamp post and broke one of my rear lights!!! ;)

Nor the time I reversed and took a whole concrete slab out of the pavement [sidewalk].

Suffice to say I have reversing issues ;-)

I nearly killed someone trying to parallel park.   :-/

And once, I was going into my driveway (having to make a left-turn to get there), and as usual, when I approach my house, my driving skills get sloppier (for example, the seat belt comes off), and I pulled in without noticing the oncoming traffic.  Thank Allah that the guy had quick reflexes, and only his bumper got knocked off (no damage to my car :) ).  Furthermore, thankfully, he had a good sense of humor, and said "oh this piece of *bleep*?  don't worry, it belongs in the dump anyway."  He picked up the bumper, stuffed it in his trunk, and drove off.

One time I was going at 70 (I'm Canadian, so choose the units carefully :) )on a day when it had snowed so heavily that the snow was still like a blanket on the ground.  Hey! I was late for class, and the old lady in the car next to me was going faster than I was.  So that led to a bit of competition, which led to my car doing a 360 twice, very slowly.  It was embarrassing because my brother had just told me to slow down, and then I had to listen to his "you're the worst driver" speech. (I tuned out after "i told you so")

That's enough for now, but I could go on.

SF.

Goes to fill the fuel. Pay the money and drive off.

After 5 minutes, i see the fuel meter going down and down!! i look in the side mirror and discover that the lid was left OPEN!  ::)

Becoz of my hurry, the filler didn't get the chance to close it.

And iwas driving all the while when the petrol was flowing out, at the turns especially

Ok, here goes:
I went to test drive a car (Infinit G35 for all those car people) and everything was going beautifully until I got back to the dealership, the sales guy, his manager and a handful of other potential car owners were standing outside near where I was going to park and I didn't see that there was a curb leading to a walkway on one side of my parking space so I kinda went up on top of it and made a LOUD grating noise as I tore apart the belly of the car. I was so mortified. I had to BACK UP and DOWN from that spot, RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM as they stared, and park correctly while my dad was silently wishing he was invisible.  It was the worst, I thought we were gonna have to buy that car right there.

Ok, I have a good one for you  :-) and  ;-).

When I lived in Ohio still, there was a night during finals week where we had a snowstorm.  I had my financial accounting final in the morning, so of course my brain was not with me the night before.   ::)   So when I woke up in the morning, and found that, of course we still had school, I got ready, and then realized I couldn't find my keys.   ???  Where were they?  You guessed it-in my car.   :P   So I had to call Triple A.  The tow truck guy came and got my door open, and I left for school.  I arrived over an hour late, so I rushed in to take my exam.  After the exam, I walked down to the car, reached in my pocket, and found....nothing  :(....I looked in the window, and there were my keys, right on the front seat..... ::)  So I had to call Triple A again ....and it was the same tow truck guy!  :(  I was so embarrassed.....But wait, there's more!  So I left school and went to work.  I worked at a car dealership.  I had 7 copies of my key made to hand them out to everyone I know so I wouldn't have this problem again. ;)  Smart girl I am....  That night, I went to visit my friends by the university.  I got to the house, and I had a lot of stuff to take inside.  So I decided to leave my purse in and take the heavier stuff first....But don't worry, I made sure I had my carkey in my hands.  ;)    I got to the door, and found nobody home.  :(   I went back to the car, and put the key in the lock.  Now remember how I said there had been a big storm?  That means it was really cold....And when I turned the key, it broke off in the door!!!   >:(  And guess where the 7 copies were?  That's right-in my purse, which was in the car..... :-/   So I had to call Triple A for the third time, and of course, it was my favorite tow truck driver AGAIN, who I am sure now thinks I am a complete idiot.   ::)

So that's my dumb driving day.

:o :o :o  you talkin trash Mr. drive by!!!   :P

Here's one (of many):

Right after I got my permit, my bro (lightning at nite) brought me driving.  For those of you who don't know, lightning is an INSANE driver (seriously) and he is *not* the person you want to teach you driving lessons :P

So we pull up to a red light and he says to me.. "Just go!"

Me: "dude, it's a red light!"
Lightning: "just go.. who cares.. go go go!!!"
me: [getting flustered] okay fine!!

so I went through it and took a left.. and CUT OFF A COP who was coming from the other side of the intersection!!!!

All of a sudden we hear sirens..

Cop approaching my window:  You went right through that red light!

Me:  I.. I don't know.. I was just so confused.. (being an air head)

Cop: Didn't you *see* that it was a red light?

Me: ahh.. I.. ??? (lightning's cracking up)

Cop: License and Registration.

Me: I don't have a license.

Cop: You don't *HAVE* a license?

Me: I have a permit!!

Cop: [not believing me] I want to see it and your (pointing to lightning) license.

hahaha.. so we give them to him and he squints and gives us this long, hard, stare.. trying to figure out if we were on drugs or terrorists or just dumb.. and then he let us go.

beat that arshad :P

ok, my story is not as good as all of yours, but Ill share anyways. I was 16, without a license, and drove to work..i forgot my keys in the car, and was sooo scared to tell anyone, because i didnt have my license and it wasnt even my car (it was my friends). Anyways, I finally told the security men that worked where i worked..so they tried to get in through the window to open up the car...well, i was soooooo nervous already, but then....a police drove by and seen what we were doing! So of coarse he had to come question us. Ok, im really scared now :o But the police man was really kind and opened up my car for me and didnt ask me anything. hehehe. so I waited till he left and then drove off home.

then there is the time that I went up on the curb at the drive-through..i was so scared to come back down  :D

Asalamu Alykum,

he he some real funny stories  :D

o.k so i just got my license and ofcourse i had no sense of direction. I had to pick up cotton candy machine for our Youth Group picnic from  this place we rented it and ofcourse there are like 8 abc rentals in Cleveland. I went to the wrong one and on my way back got lost  :(.. So i am all flustered, no cell phone, very lil money and on top of it i was running out of gas. So i end up at this gas station and i parked to get gas right behind a brother that had just graduated from our high school. I pushed the nozzle like 3 times and the gas refused to come out and than i took it out from the gas tank and pushed it real hard.. LOL a gush of gasoline flew everywhere and landed a  lot on me.. here i am drenched in gasoline and on top of it i placed my cash on the rear of the car and it got real windy all of the sudden my money started flying everywhere.. oh man the bro quickly ran behind and alhamdullilah saved some of it...Anywaytween Deir
Ibzya and Ramallah obsolete. This has many harsh effects on the
livelihood of Deir Ibzya, as people can't get to work, thus they
have no money. Food is even more difficult to distribute, thus it
costs more money. The repercussions of immobility know no end, from
the small details of not obtaining any chicken feed, resulting the
death of the trade of meat and eggs, as well as contributing to the
lack of food. To the diminishing hope of the inhabitants under the
occupation, whose morale sinks lower and lower, as they live under
the constant fear of attack starvation and imprisonment in their own
homes.

Blackouts are common, either due to the electricity supply being cut
off, or the generators being so old yet the village is unable to
replace. Isreali aircraft adds to the terror, as F16's become a
regular  occurance, and the sound of gunshots in other towns carry
over the hills. To heighten the isolation of this small village, are

[slm] ;D :D These stories are so funny!I have got my license for just over a month now and I already had my first ''embarassing moment''.My mum and I went to a shopping center and we stopped at the entrance of the paid parking lot to collect the ticket from the machine.Because I am short I could not reach the button to press for the ticket to come out. So I had to switch off the car, collect the ticket and by the time I got in and started the car,the boom gate had opened and closec and now it refused to open again.Anyway there was a line of cars behind me and we had to all reverse and use the next entrance.Boy I could imagine how they must have been cursing me..... :-[ :-[ :P [wlm]

hahahaha, my stomach was hurting by the time I finished reading all those .. anyway here are my most embarrasing moments:

[list][*]Trying to turn on the car when it was already on, the guy in the car next to me told me "Car's already on", I was like "Of course I knew that!"

[*]At my aun'ts house, pulling out of the garage and smashing into my cousin's car

[*]Getting the car stuck on a rug that someone threw out on the street, I had to back it up and forward several times to get it out, some people from the nearby store came to help, I'm sure they had many laughs later.[/list]

LoL. Some of these are just hilarious. I too had an incident like Jasmin's.
I got my favourite Chinese dish from my favourite Chinese restaurant (Fatima's, for those of you in the Bay Area). I forgot the take-out on the car-top and drove off! But it gets better... I got home just to realize what I had done. But I was SO hungry that I drove back 20 minutes and saw that the package had dropped off exactly where I had taken off and it was in pristine condition! Needless to say, I had a great dinner :)

Wow that was a crazy story, I can't beat that se7en.  You win, you are a crazier driver then me. :)

Last friday when I was getting out of work, I saw that I had a flat tire.  So I proceed to change it, but I don't have a jack, so I call the tow truck person, he comes out and changes it for me.  Ok, I guess its not very embarassing.

A few years ago, I was backing my car down the driveway (slowly) during a snowstorm, and had the door open so I could have a clearer view over my left shoulder.  I leaned too far and fell out of the car, which continued on its merry way toward the road, running me over in the process.    My dad insisted I go to the hospital even though I was fine, and I had the humiliating experience of telling the ER folks that I had been run over by my own car *while* I was driving it.    The nurses fell out laughing and the doctor wasn't too far behind.

ok here's mine (one of about a 100)...
well i wasnt driving i was in teh passener seat, but my sis was, so anyways we were leaving the olive garden and it had started raining.  so my one friend had just gotten her hair done and simply could not get it wet, so i was like ok we'll pick u up at the door.  so when we pulled up she opened the door and stuck her head in but found that there was a huge pile of shopping bags on the seat.  so she proceeded to move them all over, which took a while.  however, my sister figured she was already in and ready to go so she started pulling out of the parking lot.  i looked back and noticed that my friend was half hanging out of the car with her feet trying to catch up so they dont get run over.  so instead of telling my sister to stop i start laughing uncontrollably  ;D and my friend was in such shock she couldnt say anything, so my sis just kept going lol... eventually after a few feet she looked back and noticed wat i was still laughing about and managed to stop the car.  it was hilarious at the time u had to be there lol

Nothing too bad compared to some of these stories, but let's see...

Soon after I got my lisence, I drove to a friend's house.  I had to back into the driveway, and backed part way over the lawn instead while my friend's mother was watching.  ::)   (Hey - it's a narrow driveway and a busy street.)

There were also those awkward moments stalling the car while learning to drive a stick shift.  The worst was when I stalled in the middle of an intersection trying to turn left on an orange light, and then had to sit there blocking traffic until the light turned green again. :P

my moments of driving have been seriously scary rather than thigh-slappingly funny but a truly wierd moment happened when i was waiting at a junction to turn when this huge bird came flying towards my open window.

it must have realised, like a second before that it was gonna crash straight into me so it did a kind of take off thingy like a plane and narrowly avoided crashing.  my driving instructor sat next to me agasp at such a close call but i was blase about it.  now when i sit & think what could have happened i think 'Alhamdulillah', i was being looked after.   :)
