Watermelong juice :)

Assalamu alaikum
It's very simple and REALLY refreshing.
Try to get as many seeds out of the watermelon as possible, but if you can't get all of them it's ok.
Put chunks of watermelon in the blender and blend on high for a few minutes.
Strain it over a container for about an hour till all the juice drips down and the pulp/seeds stay in the strainer.  If you have space in your refrigerator strain leave in in there while it's straining.  It really should be ice cold.
voila, it's red, it's sweet, it's nutitious, and it's 100% natural  :)

I really love watermelons....just out of curiosity...do they have any nutritional benefits?

well, let's see....nutritious can mean "good for you", and um eating watermelon (or drinking its lovely juice) makes people feel kind of um happy, and that's "good for you", so...um......yes, i guess they do! :D

other than that they have LOTS and LOTS of water!  as their name implies....  hee heeee    no, in seriousness, you'd get some vitamin C, um sugar, um some minerals..............and...................if you eat the seeds you could get protein!  hee heee

watermelons i think are just meant to be enjoyed, and can be considered a treat or a snack......a near pure pleasure food.  not much value...sorry...

(of course, their vast pinkishness serves as a wonderful attractant to those who will carry out the task of dispersing their seeds.)

additional comments, to be fair to watermelons:  if you eat a large quantity, you'd get a reasonable amount of vitamin C.  these melons are quite beneficial to those who would be eating them in the hot places where they're native (um where the melons are native, i mean).  and there are also other molecules in them of benefit, probably as part of a design for this food to be consumed regularly, where it grows - you'd get bioflavonoids, though of course not at all of i gues it would be the "type" found in blueberries, for example - a highly beneficial food.  bio-flavonoid, as you can guess tells you the molecules are of a certain chemical species, structurally.  it's not "a" "chemical" found in a certain food.  and watermelons in their native breeds are most like those roly-poly striped rattlesnake melons, not like the long, giant, takes-two-children-to-carry-it variety.

yummmmm, i love watermelon! inshaAllah im going to try the juice. I was just wondering if mangos have any nutritional benefits? I love mangos and watermelon! The men here who walk around selling watermelon yell out, ahmar wa halawa ya baadteek..I love the sayings they come up with when they sell their fruits and veggies.

Thanks mwishka...you description of the -noids was informative  8)

Mangos...Subhan'Allah...for sure lots of vitamins....also the ripe ones consumed in large quantities can be a powerful laxative ;D

I remember sitting under the mango trees, eating mangos day long...their flesh still warm. Mango juice, milkshake, yogurt, icecream, salad, dip, and even curry(which Grandma knew how to make deliciously :-X

[[[psssst......i can't talk out loud about mangoes, i'll go crazy...... :D  i grew up in florida - yeah, my grandfather had two mango trees, they're now about 40 feet each, my parents still live there and my father babies them through tropical storms and hurricanes, they're starting to look like sprawling alien creatures with a bunch of wooden support legs.....yay for my father! from the mountains, more mechanically inclined than horticulturally, but he can figure out anything, and keeps those trees going.  BUT the breed of that fruit.....um becoming rare...growers don't like it, too heavy to ship, not enough seed.........but um not much else could be called heaven on earth to my mind.  silken, not a string to be found, giant, maybe 4-6 pounds each...  i get two shipments a year  :-/.....IF the seasons are good..... :(   bad weather of either kind doesn't help.......a few lucky souls have been graced with, um sometimes a bite of one of my mangoes - that's the people that don't know (!!) if they even like mangoes, or, for special cases, like my advisor whose father in puerto rico lost his mango tree in a hurricane, an entire precious mango, plus, for him, an extra seed.  but brother aadam, let's not lose our grasp here and talk mundane nutrition where mangoes are concerned!  i suspect you could live on them.......and MY mangoes are never going to face any adulteration.  peel, cut, eat.]]]

"peel, cut, eat" ...of course...that's when you have 2 shipments a year ;D

But when you have 3 trees in your backyard (in my childhood) and nearly a 100 mangos a day...it's no longer "peel, cut, eat" :-*

You are right, just grab'em and eat! Just like cheesecake...hmmm :)...don't worry about what's inside
