good soldiers take war back to their own homes

ah yup, it's started.....

fall in!

count off!

one!  two!  three!  four!

fort bragg NC, four special forces "soldiers" (i.e., killers) return from afghanistan.  "honey, i'm home!  i have a present for you....i brought it home from afghanistan with me...."

the present was being shot, strangled, shot (ok, repetitive - this soldier wasn't creative..) or stabbed to death.....

i warned of this somewhere here, calling to mind the PO employees who brought the vietnam war onto their jobs, killing co-workers.

and i believe it all comes down to this, that i wrote um somewhere in ummah, i forget...ghosts of something or something....

once people are trained to kill, unless they're also trained at the same time
that they're doing so with honor and respect, they become incorrigible, no longer
able to live normally or peacefully in a peaceful society.  soldiers in the US (and
i suspect most countries use similar methods) are first destroyed personally, then
reassembled with a different mentality.

this is one of the loose ends of war. without re-training, these pliant killers no longer
belong in any civilian society.  they are no longer the people they were before.

I just couldn't agree more. But what amazes me the most is that the civilian population does not feel there is anything wrong with training soldiers in this zombie like manner. As long as their fighting our battles it's all good in the hood.  Talk about being selfish.

Another thing, you might have come across people in the law enforcement agencies or the military when asked why they do something which might be objectionable to a persons sense of morality. You get a shameless answer "just doing my job" or "just following orders". Oh like it's all ok now. orders! nothing can supercede that. It doesn't matter how stupid that order is. It burns me up.

I just wanted to add the article here...

Army wives killed at US base
By Steve Kingstone BBC correspondent in Washington
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The United States military is investigating a disturbing series of murders apparently involving US special forces soldiers who recently served in Afghanistan.

Four soldiers, all based at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, are accused of killing their wives.
The murders have all occurred in the past two months, two of them within the past week.
Two of the men later shot themselves, and the two surviving men have since been charged with murder.
'Coincidental'
The base in North Carolina is the headquarters of America's elite Special Forces unit.
Three of the soldiers had recently returned from service in Afghanistan.
One is said to have killed his wife just two days after returning to the US.
Commanders are looking into whether any of the men sought counselling after coming home.
The base's family liaison policy is also now under review.
But a spokesman insisted that, however disturbing, any link between the killings and the war in Afghanistan was purely coincidental.
"We don't have reason to think it was stress-related," US Army Special Operations Command spokesman Ben Abel told French news agency AFP.

Tough call.  On the one hand, I understand your point and in some ways agree with it.  But on the other hand, there are always at least two sides to every story.

I have a hard time whenever someone paints a large group of people in a certain light with such a broad brush.  I agree that a soldier's mentality is different than a civilian's.  I also agree that there are some people who have a hard time adjusting to civilian life after being involved in the military and in particular, combat.  But you make it seem as if all soldiers are mindless bloodthirsty killing machines, which is not true.

Do not mistake this post as me taking offense to what you have written concerning soldiers.  I can understand why you would feel this way and again, I agree with some of it.  The only thing that truly bothers me about this post is the levity concerning the murder of the wives.

"honey, i'm home!  i have a present for you....i brought it home from afghanistan with me...."

the present was being shot, strangled, shot (ok, repetitive - this soldier wasn't creative..) or stabbed to death..... "

I just have a hard time being so flippant about murder.

yeah bro dirt,

i don't like that part of my own post, either....   i almost deleted it, but then just left it.  that part relates to what i put up for my response to this week's mission in the game --- a failing whereby i allow anger at some wrong to cause me to indulge in sarcasm.  that's, i guess, one of my most common ways to protect myself from some of the worst things i encounter in this world, and these murders by people who were actually literally trained for that specific action, by my own government, and then chose to pervert that training, is an example of the kind of thing i have strong reactions to....strong enough that this um weaker side of indulging in sarcasm just overwhelms my good sense and overflows and spills out.  i agree with you about being respectful of the victims of any wrong action.  i think i'll choose now to leave this as it is - maybe your response to my indulgence in wrong behavior will help someone else with something in their own life some time that we'll never even know about.

p.s. thanks for replying to me here, too.  i think your opinion as an ex-soldier who has come to islam carries a special weight....

Not so special now are they ??? And who do they kill the same people, the kill innocents and those are who the most weak. They are doing the same in Afghanistan, at home and with the aid of the US Foreign Policy.
I can't believe America the bully boy of the world actually said that we are immune from the War Crimes Tribunal and if we don't get our way then our troops will leave areas like Bosnia and Kosova.
Its acts like these coward soldiers that raises some serious questions upon the acts conducted by the American so called 'Special Forces'.

Subhan'Allah, the enemies of Islam came on a crusade to kill innocent women and children in Afghanistan and other Muslim lands, and now when they went back home, they ended up killing their own families.   How ironic.

May Allah (SWT) grant a swift victory for the Muslims against these criminals!  Ameen!
