[slm] How long I’ve waited for you, my dear, How hard the sickness, the pain, the fear, How little I knew I’d see you here So sweet and young, new life so near. I look to the sky, and feel a sharp pain Lest the world shroud you in its evil reign And render my labours all in vain. Will you know I loved you ever again? Yet your father’s care glows from your face In strong form is your brother’s trace. You bear the light of Allah’s grace May you triumph in His pleasure’s race. How lovely you are this moonlit night Cocooned in darkness, yet bathed in light, Hush, my wildflower, my own delight, Sleep now, for Allah will see you right. [wlm] |
