[slm] I got some homework to do and i'm kind of stuck :-[ what i have to do is... part a) look at the main features of a masjid and describe them. part b) say why its important, how it reflects or shows the worshipper something about what they believe and how it assists the believer to worship. so far i've covered the Minaret, Dome, washing facilities, calligraphy, mihrab and minbar. I still need to do about 3 more, and i've ran out of ideas. ::) your help would be much appreciated :-) jazakllah khair [wlm] |

| [slm] How about the floor- the direction of the carpeting. the walls- the division of men and women, the lack of pictures rooms- many masjids have libraries, community and study rooms. |

| [slm] How about the qiblaa which brings out the theme of obedeince to Allah and the sense of unity with the rest of the muslim world Book shelves full of quraan and hadith which symbolises learning and striving in the path of allah The Mouezzins azaan where he calls us to the path of sucess The imams voice leading the prayer reminding folks of Allah swt and the harmony and peace one experiences in listening to the Holy quraan Men/women lined up together in prayer in obdeince in unity with no divisons of class colour n creed The children in mosques playing around running here and there(at least in our mosque :)) Thr future of twommorow being trained to lead lives as muslims and better human beings Last but not the least the little charity/zakath/sadaqa box in the cornner reminding us that Deen is both a mix of huququllah and huququl ibaad (duty to the creator as well as duty towards the creation) [wlm] |
