Mullah Nasrudhin, the Persian legend was once searching for something in his courtyard. An old man approached and asked him what was it he lost. Mullah replied, 'It's a pin'. The old man decided to help the Mullah find the lost object. After searching for a while  and still unable to find the pin, he asked the Mullah, 'Are you sure you lost the pin in this courtyard'?. The mullah replied, 'No. Not here. I lost it inside the house. But since it is dark there, I am searching for it in under the daylight sun'.
:)

The condition of today's Muslims is the same. What we want is in the dark. We have put it in the interior of the home. And we are instead walking in the light of a foreign culture. No portion of our culture is left with us. We are unable to come close to the cultural achievements of our predecessors. In olden times, we had the habit of regularly reciting Holy Quran after Maghrib (sunset prayer) hours. Where is such a practice now? The next generation will curse us for our incapacity to give them an Islamic heritage which we received from our previous generation. What did we do to sustain those contributions? The future generation is going to have a zero culture.
