| [slm] Silent No More By: Paul Findley Is the best book I read so far this year. AUTHOR: Paul Findley was a member of congress for 22 years. Congressman Paul Findley's trip to South Yemen to plead for the release of an imprisoned U.S. citizen started him on an unexpected journey through the World of Islam that continued for 25 years and inspired this book. He chronicles his far-flung trail of discovery, the false stereotypes of Islam that linger in the minds of the American people, the corrective actions that the leaders of America's seven million Muslims are undertaking, and the community's remarkable progress in mainstream politics. Paul Findley lectures widley and frequently meets with leaders in the Middle East. BOOK: Towards the end of this book, Mr. Findley puts in a page called "A Friendly Note From Your Muslim Neighbor..." This page is not copyrighted and may be distributed to your neighbors and friends and co-workers who you feel is misinformed about Islam. The page talks about Islam and Muslims-what they believe in. The first line on the page is, "Muslims have much in common with Christians and Jews." Then commpares Muslims with Christians and Jews. This book talks about so many things that I think its great for non-Muslim readers. *Please check this book out.* |
