[slm] okay i have had this recipe for a few months now..but unfortunately i didnt get the chance to buy shrimps and skewers and stuff..btu everytime i read this recipe im like :P ...so if u try it..plzz let me know how it was...thanks...sana heres the recipe: 454 g bag of frozen, peeled and deveined uncoked shrimp 8 wooden skewers, abt 7 inch long 3 tbsp (45 ml) Orange juice 2tbsp Chili garlic sauce 2 tbsp vegetable oil 1tbsp brown sugar 2 tsp grated fresh ginger 1 tsp finely grated orange peel 1) Place shrimp in a bowl and defrost in the refrigerator, overnight. Pat dry w/ paper towels. Soak skewers in water for atleast 20 minutes to prevent them from burning. Place oven rack 4 inches from broiler element. Preheat broiler. Line a baking sheet with shallow sides with foil and set a rack on top. 2) In a large bowl, stir orange juice with chili garlic sauce, oil, sugar, ginger and orange peel. Add shrimp. Using a wooden spoon (or hands ;) )stir shrimp untill evenly coated. Thread 3 shrimps on each skewer and place on rack. Broil untill shrimp turn a coral colour and are charred around edges..from 2-3 minutes. Turn shrimp over adn continue broiling untill cooked through, from 2-4 more minutes. 3) Meanwhile, pour leftover marinade into a small sauce pan set over medium high heat. Bring to a boil, uncovered, and continue boiling, stirring often, until sauce thickens and is reduced to abt 1/3 cup, atleast 5 minutes. Pour sauce over shrimp or serve in a small bowl as a dipping sauce... serve with steamed rice or pasta. happy eating!! [] Sana |

sis G hijabi, if you really want to enjoy your shrimp just as ..well, shrimp, the quickest and tastiest way to fix them is to dip em in batter and drop them into deep hot oil in a deep skillet - or use a deep fryer. fresh are best, but frozen are ok, too..... but um i don't think most people here seem to fry too much..... i don't eat shrimp, but i feed people....hee hee so i still have lots of recipes for meat stuff.... MAYBE later today i can find my good shrimp curry recipe for you...... (try deep frying....you'll love it!) mwishka |
