| [color=darkgreen] [center] [size=4]Summer Vacation in the Madina!![/size] [/center] [i]Assalaam Alaikum, Peace, [/i] This is an announcement to let everyone know that the Madina Message Board will be closed for a period of about 3 weeks starting from Midnight August 15, 2002. This decision has come about through much reflection and discussion, motivated by the events of this past year. We hope that everyone can use this summer vacation break as an opportunity to re-evaluate their niyyah, presence and relationship with the board. Also, please take this time to think about how we can improve the board for everyone. Some things to consider: Re-evaluating the purpose and nature of the board. Making the board members-only. Adding new moderators. Moving moderators. Creating new forums. Removing unused forums. New creative ideas for the Special forum. Adding new features. Re-structuring the Madina, Admin and Moderator functions. Adding amendments to the Constitution. Deleting members that haven't posted in long periods of time. Allowing new members only by recommendation. Not allowing certain types of posts or topics. Changing user-removal and warning policies. Removing certain members. Current problems and solutions. And so on… Please think about these and if anyone has any suggestions for improvement of the board and/or it's administration please email [email]jannahorg@yahoo.com[/email] If each of us could send ten improvements that can be made to the board, it would be a great start. We would also like everyone to think about whether they are un-healthily attached to the board or the opposite, present but only as part of the façade. This break should allow everyone to think about what the goal and purpose of the board is, what they wanted/want the board to be and what role the board plays in your life. Please, let's use this time to re-think and re-formulate our intentions and InshaAllah from this we can open the gates to a new and more beautiful Madina! WaSalaam, Madinat al-Muslimeen [/color] |
