Matter does not exist: scientist
khaleejtimes.com, UAE

By a staff reporter

AN ARAB scientist has claimed that there is no existence of the so-called 'matter' and that objects in the universe hold together by force.

"There isn't anything that we can call 'matter'. The constitution of objects that we see and deal with is nothing but elements held together by force," claimed Dr Adil Al Safi, a visiting professor in the field of biological effects of radioactivity and microwave at Northumbria University, UK.

In a lecture at the Zayed Centre for Coordination and Follow-Up, Dr Safi explained how the universe came into existence after the 'Big Bang' 15 billion years ago. The temperature then was very high but gradually it came down to become moderate and with it emerged the atom and its constituents. The universe changed to 75 per cent hydrogen and 25 per cent helium and during next 500,000 years all the stars and planets formed and so did the minerals, carbons, oxygen and water etc.

He said when the 'Big Bang' occurred the Earth began to grow gradually. Those explosions were akin to hydrogen bomb detonations in the sun and other galaxies. He explained that a light year is used to measure distance and not time and the temperature has its effect on the planet and its distance.

The age and formation of any planet can be measured from the colour of its radiation, he said, adding that universe is endless and continues to expand in accordance with divine disposition. Dr Safi pointed out to the Creator's greatness in the rotation of the Earth and its orbiting round the sun at a constant speed without any change to effect any disturbance in its balance with other heavenly bodies in the universe.

Reviewing all the theories related to physics since 1919, Dr Safi talked about discovery of proton, its formation and some experiments carried out particularly with atom. He said what scientists know today is just five per cent of the universe; 95 per cent of the universe is still to be discovered.

You know what I like about scientists?  They claim to be so logical, and they use all these technical terms which a normal person  :o's at.  (wow's at)  But they are actually so so philosophical underneath.  I mean, I seriously am in love with that.  Look at this guy, he is basically pointing out that the once-absolute truth of the existence of matter was only ABSOLUTE because the definition was all wrong.  Change the definition, and things fall back into the relative category again.  (Oh by the way, Absolute vs. Relative is my potential PhD thesis, for which I have begun my research.  So if I don't make sense, it's because my cerebral capacity has yet to expand.)

Wasalaam.

SF.  (I had one espresso this morning, and aside from the obvious caffeine intake, I also drank it with an apple pie, and the sugar added to my extreme hyperactivity.  Forgiveness requested.)

he he original sis, um NOTHING is absolute in science, and that's the ONLY thing scientists are um hee hee absolutely sure of.  any scientist will tell you that --- and oh, of course science is philosophical, all investigation based on observation has to be.  how else could hypotheses be formulated?  you have to have some sort of character to the path of your logic, and that's how different ways of thinking sort themselves out, eh?

bro jaihoon, i know that you recently said you're no numbers cruncher, but if you have interest in discussions such as this one  (p.s.  nothing new here, just semantics, as sis orig was saying...), i REALLY think you'd get something out of reading the "handbook of particle physics" i mentioned before.  just go around the equations, or look at them closely, thinking about what each variable stands for (like um T for temperature, t for time, V for volume, etc.) and you'll really enjoy it, especially the section on cosmology...  (h yeah gotta suggest this to bro hamayoun, too...)

If you like this type of stuff you should watch this video http://www.hyahya.org/m_video_secret_beyond_matter.php

and you should read these two books
