| salaam. i was searching through groups at yahoo.com and i, to my surprise, found many many groups i believe to be linked to child pornography. there is no reason to sexually exploit children, or allow it to happen! so i ask that you all avoid yahoo as much as possible. thank you brothers and sisters. |

| well the slogan is right, the internet is "like the world at your fingertips". and i have the right to sit here and enjoy the internet in my living room without seeing half or fully naked people or child abuse. islamic countries wouldn't allow that in the streets! why should it be in my home? the internet is so useful and great, but like real life, many people want to abuse it and make it sick like they have. |

| [slm] I hate using yahoo mail. They always have all those banners of half naked people, ect... I use hotmail more often, since they really dont have that bad of banners on their site. (im not talking msn, im talking hotmail :)) Anyways, I agree getting an email from the Islamic sites posted would be better than using these other ones. But the problem is, all the good Islamic emailing groups are using yahoo, so you kinda just got to use it. Allahu Alim |

| It disturbs me that it is allowed under yahoo. do u condone that this content should be allowed in a public community? if it is even there, it is foul and grounds for criticizm. |

| [slm] i have been using yahoo mail quite sometimes for my personal mails. i have my company email for my official mails. i realised (or maybe just my account :o) there have been porn mails and websites sent to my email as bulk mails >:( i have tried many times to put them under the ignored lists but they keep coming from different email addresses ... how could this be possible ... i am definately not registered or subscribed to any of those websites and i really dunnk those senders as well... so much for privacy with emails :'( [wlm] :-) |

| [wlm] There are many ways they get your email. It's the bane of my existence!!! Whenever you sign up for something they usually ask for your email to send you the password (like this site, but alhamdulillah no spam follows!) this gets sold to big marketers who use it. There are also robots that go through the web and newsgroups and so on and pick up any and all emails. Alot of those petitions and "forward this to a hundred ppl and you'll win a trip to disney world" stuff are made up by marketers so that they can collect emails. Also I've noticed on hotmail recently they use programmed dictionaries to try every combination of words/names and they use that to send emails to ppl. And don't ever reply back or "unsubscribe" where they tell you to.. sometimes this is a way to verify whether or not you are a real email address. My suggestion: get two emails... one for private use.. only give it to friends no one else and the other use for public stuff.. like on the web, signing up for stuff.. |

| The worse thing to me is that i found people asking for sexually explicit pictures of children, and i wonder how can yahoo provide a community or harbor for people who exploit children! that is the worse offense in my eyes, and it is a form of terrorism to me. |

| I believe that's illegal in all 50 states... I suggest you contact yahoo and report that. |
