Prospective Spouse Visits

[slm] eveyone,

A prospective hubby and his family are coming to my house on Saturday to meet my family. I've known this person for a long time... What's really funny is that we've never met each others' families. Well now the big day is on Saturday- the first time both parties will meet.  I'm very nervous, I want everything to go well. I'm not sure about my role though. Do I just sit quietly or engage in conversation?  I know I will be helping my mom with refreshments, but is that the only time I should show myself? ???

Dear Sister ...How you should act depends on what is the usual norm in your family......Some families prefer the girl to remain silent and speak only when spoken to by the guests etc...others might prefer a more outgoing attitude....You should ask your mother about this or if you are not comfortable with that ask an older cousin ......
Its better if you have an idea what the other family prefers in such matters.......
Just try to create a balance between speaking too much or remaining totally silent  :)...Inshallah everything will go well......
Our prayers are with you.......

Meanwhile relax and have a   []
