Bismillah and salam,

I was asked a question lately about listing some good presentday role models for muslim youth. It really made me think.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

I remember getting asked that in school..nobody could think of someone who really was their role model. Everyone used to say things like "Mother Teresa" or someone like that. So it's not just a problem for Muslims trying to find who is their role model.
If asked nowadays I'd probably say my mother   :-X
because she would be the closest thing to a role model that I have  :-*

take care, Insha Allah,

role models hmphhhhhhhhh i would say Aisha (ra) I want to be just like her inshallah......at school my answer would be the same why be 2 faced oh well if the students don't like it.... i went to my old school to get my shot records i switching school from ghetto to preppie ewwww :-[ n e ways the students there made a joke " oh no the taliban's wife is here "  ::) but the teacher didn't do anything .... guess your school is strict.... but its like no one cares any more there are many signs in front of them like Allah said in the Quran "  And when it is said to them:"make not mischief on earth," they say" we are only peace makers." (surah baqarah ayah 11)..... just pray for the Kafrs wut else can we do.
hope i told u my answer .

Assalamu Alaikum,

Modern day role model?  They keep changing for me...

Once it was Malcolm X.

Nowadays I am impressed by great people like Abdul Sattar Edhi and Dr. Gino Strada.  The former is a well-known charity worker in Pakistan who cares immensively for the poor and mentally-ill.  Allahu Alam where Pakistan would be without his charitable health services.  Dr. Strada was a Heart Surgeon in Italy (imagine the money) who decided to start the Non-profit org. Emergency which works all over the world in war-torn countries such as Afghanistan and Iraq.

I might post some more stuff if you guys want.

Wassalamu Alaikum,
Uzer

How about Hakeem Olajuwon or Yusuf Ali? I think they're pretty popular with the Youth group and good role models too.

And ofcourse our beloved Prophet  [saw]  :)
