Bismillah and salam,

Please help me give a good advice for to give to two new-muslims sisters who are having some problems with their non-muslim families espeically the mothers and sisters. Things like never want to hear a word about it. not wanting ot acknowledge changes, not wanting to provide islamicly sound place when they come, not wanting to accept the grandchildren are muslims, etc.

i said the stuff i heard work for others as in be patient keep good relations with them. but from your own experience what would you tell these sisters? What really works? How should they approach the family? What should they do if they won't stop criticizing you and the religion infront of children?

By Allah I have first hand experience with this situation.

Every believing man and woman is tried by Allah in different ways.  This could be the trial for them.  The correct thing to do is make constant duah and remain steadfast.  As time passes, insha'allah the family will see that their hostility has no effect, it has only driven the believer closer to Allah.  No matter what, we still respect and honor our family members.  When they see that we are not arguing or fighting with them, they might start to come around.

If after some time they are still openly hostile, they might have to make hijrah to another location or they can say they will not visit or talk with them if they continue with this behavior.  Sometimes you just have to put the smack down  ;)
